They do not know what the students will spend the money on.

According to CollegeXPress.com, 62% of college students check their yearly bank accounts. Only 39% of those plan a budget. Giving money to the students is untrustworthy because it can fall into the wrong hands.

The more money, the more problems: they do not know wants and needs. College students, being young adults, are introduced to the idea of money. Already few students budget properly, and giving them more makes it even worse. They would most likely go ham with their purchases because of peer pressure. It makes sense for them to think that way. Imagine your friends want to go to a movie. You have the money to do it, why not go and do it? Then it leads a chain of events. Go to a movie, then to a bar, then to a restaurant. And you need to pay for it all. Which brings me to the next point.

That 23 percent of people who don’t budget their money, usually spend about 1000 dollars (in credit card debt) before they even graduate. Using alot of money in early adulthood will not leave a good late adulthood. That’s cause they are use to spending fortunes on useless items.

Start with four years of tuition, fees, room and board that total $80,208 for in-state students and $180,536 for those from outside North Carolina. Add the benefit of a diploma from a top institution with an influential and passionate alumni network. UNC is nationally ranked the No. 5 public university and the No. 30 college overall. That seems like enough.

Yes. Although the players are famous, very few of them are rich. In college basketball, your scholarship pays for your health insurance. For example, Zion Williamson broke his ankle (grade 1) and Duke paid for it as for his appeared in March Madness. What if he was a professional? He probably wouldn’t be able to pay for it. In a way it is sort of discouraging.
