The True Cost, launched in 2015, "...exposed the social, environmental and economic costs of the fast fashion industry...It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, coinciding with the Fashion Revolution Day." (Team 4tify, 2020, para. 24). Holds relevance due to its strong awareness effects on viewers showcasing the damages the cycle of fashion can truly possess.

Sustainable Fashion Event #2- MIT Trashion Show

Held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2015, the year in which the SDGs were adopted, the show "...celebrated students' creative fashion designs while promoting waste reduction...pieces were made of trash and recycled materials, then modeled on the runway." (Peterson, 2015, para. 2). This was an innovative method to display to students the importance of renewal in clothing production. The pictured outfit above used soda cans and old posters to craft this look.

Sustainable Fashion Event #3- Gucci's 10 Year Strategy

In 2015, luxury apparel and goods brand, Gucci, first launched their sustainability strategy, Culture of Purpose. The company "..committed to ambitious targets, including reducing total footprint by -40% and greenhouse gas emissions by -50%." (Gucci Equilibrium Impact Report, 2021, para. 13). This paved the way for other designers to follow suit, highlighting the necessity for ethical production.
