History is such an important part of our lives. Our founding fathers did not just create the constitution overnight. Those men spent years studying history and the different forms of government to form the United States constitution. A law put into place to help protect the people against tyranny.

The Federalist Number 44, [25 January] 1788 (archives.gov)

I chose this law because slowly we as people are losing are rights every day. There are protections for those rights. This clause is one that our founding fathers left us to protect ourselves. Ex post facto law is not meant to change the rule of evidence to make conviction easier. Nor does it allow you to be charge with crime that was committed before a law was put into place. I think it's important to remember that there are more ants than grasshoppers in this world.
