Need to have emotional moments in the show to balance the shock and entertainment factors.

Need sympathetic elements of all/some of the characters for this, i.e. the relationship between Ethan and Delilah (Envy & younger sister); Gluttony's suffering, Pride's downfall at the end of the story - maybe the audience actually feel sorry for her?

They need to be 'hit you in the chest' moments - the audience have to really feel it.

Ethan and Delilah's relationship idea

Delilah is the only person Ethan does not envy. He overlooks her for most of the story but secretly carries the guilt of her mental illness, perhaps subconciously realising it is his fault?

Their relationship arc:
Beginning: Ethan dismisses and neglects Delilah, she does not respect him.

When she witnesses the burial:
Ethan again dismisses Delilah, refusing to listen. She feels she has been abandoned by the one person who is meant to protect her.

1990s, when Delilah is in mental institution: Ethan tries to support her but does not know how and his guilt is immense. She no longer feels any kind of connection with him: she has given up, sitting in silence when he visits her.

1990s when the group are summoned: Need to have resolution here. Maybe the journalists tell Delilah that the group have been summoned and she realises she needs to help him? In a subtle way, she helps him and he realises he needs to protect her. Could serve as an emotional moment if elaborated.

Lust 1990s scene idea

To show that he's leading a double life, could open with a scene of him sat at the kitchen table with his wife. They share a bland conversation and he puts on the radio to fill the silence. An upbeat, popular song plays (i.e. girls and boys by Blur) and he starts to tap along to the beat. As the music swells, the scene transitions to him dancing in a club with his gay lover.

Comedic aspects of the show - ideas

The two journalists investigating Penny - they're lazy, not really invested in the job, find the whole concept entertaining, have a black-comedy approach to the situation? Could make the whole thing a bit lighter.

Grace and Sienna (Gluttony and Sloth) - they share laid back banter, with lots of pop culture references and a chill stoner vibe to their conversation, often incorporating surreal comedy?

Preston - unintentional comedy, i.e. when he makes his terrible jokes they're so stupid you laugh at him, not with him. He also has a stupid laugh and is clumsy, introducing some slapstick comedy?

Wrath - unexpectedly funny, as she's very percetive and will call people out on their shit, like deadpan comedy? Or the deadpan could go to another character.
