AED defibrillator and a medication kit are located at the instructor's station in clinic. To use the AED, open the unit, turn the power on, follow the picture and verbal directions. These items will be checked monthly and immediately after use by the Clinic Assistant. A log is kept and initialed after each monthly check. -*In the PMI DH Clinic, a medical referral is different from medical consult. A referral is recognition of a potential issue in which the Clinic is informing the patient that they should seek medical treatment for. The issue, and therefore referral, does not preclude treatment from continuing (at that time). A referral can be changed to a consult at any time or if the issue continues and the patient does not seek treatment.
