There are 5 billion lights on the Eiffel Tower. The first platform is 190 feet above the ground; the second platform is 376 feet, and the third platform is almost goo feet up. The Eiffel Tower has to stories, with 1,710 steps

𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙁𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 : *The Design of the Eiffel Tower*

The plan to build a tower 300 metres high was conceived as part of preparations for the World's Fair of 1889.The tower project was a bold extension of this principle up to a height of 300 metres - equivalent to the symbolic figure of 1000 feet. On September 18 1884 Eiffel registered a patent "for a new configuration allowing the construction of metal supports and pylons capable of exceeding a height of 300 metres".

In order to make the project more acceptable to public opinion, Nouguier and Koechlin commissioned the architect Stephen Sauvestre to work on the project's appearance.

The construction

The assembly of the supports began on July 1, 1887 and was completed twenty-two months later.

All the elements were prepared in Eiffel’s factory located at Levallois-Perret on the outskirts of Paris. Each of the 18,000 pieces used to construct the Tower were specifically designed and calculated, traced out to an accuracy of a tenth of a millimetre and then put together forming new pieces around five metres each. A team of constructors, who had worked on the great metal viaduct projects, were responsible for the 150 to 300 workers on site assembling this gigantic erector set.

The tower was assembled using wooden scaffolding and small steam cranes mounted onto the tower itself.

The assembly of the first level was achieved by the use of twelve temporary wooden scaffolds, 30 metres high, and four larger scaffolds of 40 metres each.

"Sand boxes" and hydraulic jacks - replaced after use by permanent wedges - allowed the metal girders to be positioned to an accuracy of one millimetre.

Locally nicknamed "La dame de fer" (French for "Iron Lady"), it was constructed as the centerpiece of the 1889 World's Fair, and to crown the centennial anniversary of the French Revolution.

The tower has three levels for visitors. Tickets can be purchased to ascend, by stairs or lift, to the first and second levels. The walk to the first level, it took over 300 steps, as the walk from the first to the second level. The third and highest level is accessible only by elevator. Both the first and second levels feature restaurants with amazing France dish.

Today, it has been regarded as one of the most beautiful architectural works in the world. Besides it's use for tourist attraction, the tower is also used for a communication tool for sending signals to televisions and also radios.

The Eiffel Tower, designed by Gustave Eiffel and built for the 1889 World's Fair in Paris, stands as a symbol of both the city’s beauty and an incredible engineering achievement. The construction, which began in 1887 and took 22 months, involved the assembly of 18,000 precisely crafted metal pieces, forming a structure that rises to a height of 300 meters. Despite initial public opposition, the tower has since become an iconic landmark, affectionately known as "La dame de fer" (The Iron Lady).

Today, the Eiffel Tower serves not only as a major tourist attraction, with three levels accessible by stairs and elevators, but also as a vital communication tool for television and radio signals. It remains one of the most admired architectural feats in the world, drawing millions of visitors annually who come to experience its breathtaking views and the culinary delights offered at its restaurants.
