ICELAND -
Immediately thought of ice or somewhere snowy.
lots of rocks came to mind and a piece of land surrounded by water. Another thought was Vikings sailing and their art and patterns. Fishes also came to mind.

THE GREAT SALT LAKE -
Surrounding mountains around came to my mind first. The natural habitat such the shrimps and birds. The salt also came to my mind such as the smell and taste.

MUSLIM -
Religion popped up immediately and the people that are a part of it. Praying also with the chants and how peaceful it is. I think about the middle east and where it started from.

The Milky way over the lake
I always see the Salt Lake as a large body of water with a freeway on the shoreline and some far away hills and mountains on the horizon and the sun is always shining on the lake.

Iceland:
I think of the film "The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty". Although the name implies, I don't see much ice. I picture a cold desert like landscape, free of trees and shrubs. There is only one main road dividing this landscape. I see old brick houses lining the road.

I see a landscape that could pass as something from a different planet. It is summer, the water is warm, and salt enough to make any scrapes that come in contact with it burn. I see hundreds of thousands if not millions of small black bugs along the shore.

I saw a dog beach in Encinitas, California. That’s probably because that’s the last time I saw a beach. I see dogs running, splashing in the water as the waves came and went. I can hear the kids playing and the dogs barking over the sound of the waves crashing onto the beach. I can feel the cool wind blowing in what little hair I have on my head.

Iceland
I remember the time I traveled to Iceland with my family. During part of the trip we went to rekiavik, the capitol. I remember the first night we were there was when I first learned it doesn’t get dark at night. I stayed up until around 1am until I realized what time it was. By then, I was hungry so I asked my mom if I could go and get some food. After I got her permission, I walked around outside in the light , not long, before I realized that not much would be open so I decided to go to a gas station. I remember feeling warm. The sun was not directly in the sky but i could still feel it’s warmth.

The Great Salt Lake
I can immediately smell the awful stench that is like nothing I’ve ever smelt before. I can feel my feet sink into the muddy, slimy sand. The bugs are everywhere and they love my blood.

Muslim
As far as I know, it is A religion that comes from the Middle East. They are very close with their god and their families. A lot of them cover their hair/ head. They also make really good food other than the fact that none of it has pork.

I immediately think of waves crashing on the shore. Me and my friends up at the crack of sitting on the sand looking out into the water getting ourselves ready to surf. I also think of tacos because there is a taco place on the beach that I grew up at and we wouldn't go a beach day without getting them.

Marco- It was calm and peaceful with sounds of waves crashing and seagulls cawing in the distance. The sun was setting and it was nice and such

ICELAND

Iceland must just be ice. I picture lots of snow, mountains, freezing winds, water, and maybe a mountaineer or two. I also think of tent basecamps like at the bottom of Everest.

marco-A bunch of green hills and peaceful landscape probably with some volcanoes. I imagine there’s puffins flying arounds because I saw a cooking show about Iceland and apparently puffins are pretty hard to catch but they taste good

GREAT SALT LAKE

Reilly- With the lake being in the news very often lately, I, having never seen it, picture a sad lake that was once full and beautiful. Other then that just a huge body of water, a very calm environment, and also some roaming animals.

Marco-Its really not-that-great smelling and really cloudy, I’ve never been to the Great Salt Lake with the sun out. I also imagine it from a really tall rock that I used to climb when I was a kid and I imagine getting swarmed by buggs.

Ice Land-
I saw a narrow Canyon leading into a huge cul-de-sac surrounded by tall mountains, making me feel slightly claustrophobic. There was a town with a clock tower and towns homes spread throughout the land. There were streams that spread throughout the land, there were farmers farming and children playing in the water. The sun shinning down on the little old town as everyone went about their day.

The Great Salt Lake-
I imagined the parts of the dried up beaches where the water used to be. The island in the middle known as Buffalo Island. The salty taste of the great salt lake entering my mouth as I look around and see my friends throwing what looks like a frisbee... But it's not... *Cough, cough* Buffalo droppings... I imagined the tents I had set up to camp the night and the mosquitoes that sucked our blood until we looked dead.

Muslim-
I imagined a man standing in a white room, he was a little darker skinned and was wearing a white robe, along with a white hat on the top of his head. Great Salt Lake - I remembered a time when I was driving by it in the way to Toelle and realized how little of it is left, felt disappointment, the image of shimmering water in the distance but lots of dried up salty land where there was once a better lake for people to enjoy
