During this kindergarten activity, students used Padlet to record their results in each step of the experiment. They were also able to connect to Kahoot through the Padlet to save a step when they started graphing results.

Exit Ticket

This Padlet was used as a quick exit ticket allowing students to share their big take-away from the day. (Disclaimer-- This was the first time this 3rd grade class ever did this, so their responses were lacking. As we did it more, they got better at detailing their learning in the exit ticket.)

Building Background Knowledge

First grade students worked on this Padlet each morning of the week for morning work. It helped them build background for the story they would read that week in their basal, provided additional phonics skill practice, and allowed them to think critically. (Teacher turned on "Moderate Posts" so that students couldn't see each other's answers until the end of the week.)

Providing Lesson Resources

This Padlet was used in a third grade classroom in place of a flip chart or PowerPoint. The added advantage was that the students could open the links to the PDFs in Notability and have a copy on their device which they could annotate.

Providing Research for an Inquiry Activity

This Padlet was used with second graders to practice drawing conclusions during their life science unit. They watched each of the videos and then analyzed evidence from the crime scene to see which animal did the crime.

Organizing a Brainstorming Session

As part of their economy PBL in which students had to get a loan and start their own pizza business, groups of students brainstormed everything they would want in a pizza place. Then as a class, the teacher led a discussion in which they categorized all of the items they had brainstormed. These categories became items on the grading rubric for the project. Student Reading Record

A teacher could create one Padlet per student and allow students to take a photo of each book they read as a reading record. With older kids, the students could type their reading response on the page too.

Taking and Sharing Discussion Notes

We used this Padlet for a PLC discussion but Padlets could also easily be used for students in grades 3 or 4 to take notes during book discussions.
