Sleep is very important for the body. Sleep loss can cause irritability, increased pain sensitivity, and general discomfort. Abe experienced a lot of pain after losing his leg. The amount of sleep he gets can also correlate to him feeling the amount of pain.
Microsleep are shifts in brain-wave patterns to those of sleep. This can deal with Abe not being able to stay alert and pay attention. (Coon, Mitterer, & Martini, 2018).

We see one of these turning points when Abe gets in his accident and his relationships with others begin to dwindle (Coon, Mitterer, & Martini, 2018).

Displaced aggression is the is "redirecting aggression to a target other than the actual source of one's frustration." (Coon, Mitterer, & Martini, 2018, pg. 427).

Self-esteem is a positive and high confidence evaluation of yourself. Abe has low self-esteem because he feels that people consider him as disabled. He also thinks that he is getting treated differently. His therapist also recommends he take online classes to develop his self-worth. Although he can work on his self-worth, he can also better his self-esteem. (Coon, Mitterer, & Martini, 2018, pg. 382)
