Why writing was an important aspect in "The Diary of Anne Frank

In "The Diary Of Anne Frank" writing was a very important part of the book. Anne originally used a diary to let out her emotions, and after the frank family went into hiding, it became a story of a resilience. Anne wrote about average problems for a teenager, and at the same time. the thoughts were amplified by the fact that she was in the annex. While writing about the ordinary troubles of life, she also wrote about the struggles of living as a Jew in the holocaust.

Anne called her diary Kitty, and spoke to it like a friend, not just a meaningless piece of paper. Anne's diary has been called "The single most compelling personal account of the holocaust...remains astonishing and excruciating" by the New York Times, this quote describes how much this book matters to the world.Overall Anne took a great intrest in writing, commonly writing poetry and novels, along with her diary. she was very talented, and expressed her thoughts beautifuly, she was wise beyond her years.

“Think of all the beauty in yourself and in everything
around you and be happy” (211). These are the wise words of Annelies Marie
Frank, commonly known as Anne. Even though she was a teen in hiding, she was a
very optimistic girl. She always talked about making the best of a situation,
and in her case, must have been very hard. “I don’t think of all the misery,
but about the beauty that still remains” (211). When I read that line, it
really inspired me. The thought of someone in such an unfortunate situation
still remaining to be happier than lots of people will ever be, that is an
amazing trait to have.
-Cami Kaye

‘If I force the good Anne into the spotlight for even 15 minutes, she shuts up like a clam the moment she is called upon to speak, and lets Anne number one do all the talking before I realize it, she has disappeared.”(8/1/1944), Diary of Anne Frank. This quote written by Anne Frank was included in her diary as her last entry. Anne, at the time, had been in hiding with her family and three others in the annex of her father's office. The office was located at the rear of the house with several hidden rooms; the entrance was hidden behind a large book case. Anne had a great deal of time to reflect on her family, her life, the people hiding with her, and Miep Gies. Gies helped the family stay alive for the two and a half years they remained in hiding. During this period of time, Anne reflected on who she was and her life. The above quote explain to us how different Anne could be, and that she realized at times she could be two different people. In this quote Anne doesn’t realize that she will be found out the following day; she carries on about herself and how she reacts to others. Anne writes in this quote as a young girl trying to decide who or what she wants to be like and feel like. She has no idea of what is to come for her family and friends.
-Margaret O'Neill

“In the meantime, things are getting more and more wonderful here. I think, Kitty, that true love may be developing in the Annex. All those jokes about marrying Peter if we stayed here long enough weren’t so silly after all. Not that I’m thinking of marrying him, mind you. I don’t even know what he’ll be like when he grows up. Or if we’ll even love each other enough to get married”. (3/22/1944.2), Diary of Anne Frank. This quote by Anne Frank is about her thoughts and feelings well she is in the annex. Even though Anne is in hiding she can still relate to almost every teenage girl. Anne has a crush, she is in constant fights with her mother, and she is going through puberty. Like most teenagers she is having a hard time adjusting to these changes happening in her body and in her life. I believe that Anne is a lot like me because she is scared of not knowing what is next for her. Anne has no idea what will happen maybe that was for the best. Anne Frank was a normal teenage girl just like us , but she did not get the choices that most girls have today.

-Margaret O'Neill

We’re so fortunate here, away from the turmoil. We wouldn’t have to give a moment’s thought to all this suffering if it weren’t for the fact that we’re so worried about those we hold dear, whom we can no longer help. I feel wicked sleeping in a warm bed, while somewhere out there my dearest friends are dropping from exhaustion or being knocked to the ground. (11/19/1942.5), Diary of Anne Frank. Anne is explaining in this quote how she feels very safe, lucky, and thankful that she is not suffering like the others. Though Anne is grateful, she is anxious for those who are caught and can't have help anymore. Anne brings attention to this subject multiple times throughout the book. Anne feels evil when she crawls into her warm bed meanwhile her friends are being burned to death. Throughout the book Anne notices that she is scared, not only for her own life but for her peoples lives. Anne wishes that she can do something or she should have done something, but how was she supposed to know this would happen. Anne Frank is the most brave and courageous 14 year old I can ever think of. Anne and her family were killed and never to be found, Anne Frank is one of the many victims of the holocaust that we will always remember.

-Margaret O'Neill

thing in common, our dairies. Anne says “I’ve never shared my outlook on life
or my long-pondered theories with anyone but my diary” (331). I personally keep
a diary, and for all the same reasons. I think of it as a way to express myself
and say things that I’m too scared to say out loud. I have never shared my
diary with anybody, it is basically my whole if story wrapped in a notebook.
Anne also shared a few things with her sister, as I do my brother. He’s the
only person I trust with important things going on in my head. I can somewhat
relate to Anne.

-Cami Kaye

Anne mentioned that, “the English radio says they’re being gassed” (54). She
was talking about the Jews in the concentration camps. Although I already knew
this fact, how did she at the time? It’s not like there are people going to
Auschwitz to report the scene, at least I hope not! She also mentioned that she
knew they made them shave their heads, they only have an available water supply
one hour a day and how the men and woman sleep together. The fact that she knew
all these things was very interesting to me and made me very curious. How could
news travel all the way from Holland?

-Cami Kaye

“On Friday, June 12th, I woke up at
six o’clock and no wonder; it was my birthday. But of course I was not allowed
to get up at the hour, so I had to control my curiosity until a quarter to
seven. Then I could bear it no longer, and went to the dining room, where I
received a warm welcome from Moortje (the cat)” (1). This is a passage from the
diary of Anne Frank that related to me and that’s why I liked it so much. It related
to me in the sense that I did that all the time. From Christmas to Easter even
for my birthday. But I wasn’t as nice as Anne, because instead of waiting I
woke everyone up at 4 in the morning and since I was the youngest it always
happened. Just imagine a little girl bouncing around with excitement surrounded
by tired grumpy teenage girls. It was a sight. But it still always happened,
but everyone was happy in the end with a new phone or a game to distract him or
her from the fact that it was 5 in the morning. In addition I also like this
quote because it makes me relate to Anne Frank and I think that’s really
interesting. Anne Frank has many quotes but this one little paragraph speaks to
me in a way that makes it stand out for me.

“All the students
who do not sign have to go to a labor camp” (81). This quote from The Diary of
Anne Frank is one that tells about a real place and event. It talks about the
Holocaust and labor camps. What they would do to innocent children. They take
them to camps where they may die. Where they suffer take their last breaths.
How could some one do that to a child or to anyone? I wouldn’t. But over all
the things they did in the Holocaust were too massive to believe. Not just this
quote is about the Holocaust. Every line in this book is about it. Every
sentence paragraph tells a little detail about the Holocaust and that is just
incredible.

 “Mummy
thinks that Peter is in love with me; quite frankly, I only wish he were, then
we’d be quits and really be able to get to know each other” (190). This quote from the diary of Anne Frank tells
about a recurring theme. The relationship of Peter and Anne. You can tell this
because it talks about Peter loving Anne and how Anne wants him to love her.
This subject comes up a lot in the book. From taking to him to having there
first kiss. This is probably one of the bigger and intense parts of the book because
Anne has to talk to her family about this. In addition love is a big change in
a girls life and it is hard to find love and be in hiding at the same time. So
that is great that she found it. But I think it is so sad she passed away
before the relationship could have gone further. Love is a tricky road for
everyone even if you are in hiding.
