Ideas to Reduce or Eliminate Such Ethical Behavior:

I believe that in order to reduce this kind of behavior, the consequences need to be more severe so that if someone does get caught, others will see the risk they are actually taking and hopefully limit this type of behavior.

Unfortunately, the problem with this behavior is that it is so easy to commit and still do it without being caught. And for that reason, it would be extremely difficult to completely eliminate this behavior.

I believe everyone, not just students, are notorious for pirating illegal goods on the internet. Streaming music, T.V. shows, movies illegally happens all the time. Users are essentially stealing and allowing themselves to watch/listen to services that others have actually paid for. People do this because of two simple reasons, its easier and free. Unless the consequences catch up to those who do it, (virus on their computer, getting a fine), they will keep on doing it.

Unfortunately, cyber bullying is still a tragic thing being done around the world with serious consequences. It makes it easier for bullies to attack their victims since they are able to do all this damage and while being able to hide behind the screen. When students/kids use their computers to post hateful comments, etc, they violate the first commandment of computer ethics by using their computer to harm others.
