Lucille had been forced to go to a residential school at a young age, so it had a long term effect on her for the rest of her life. As she got older she suffered from anxiety attacks, substance abuse, depression and more. Being mistreated in the schools and being punished for unreasonable things is something that had scarred her. She turned all that negativity into something good and started public speaking and doing advocacy for people with similar or relatable experiences as her.

Reserves are physical and spiritual homelands for first nations people of Canada. They are areas set aside for First Nations people after a contract with the Canadian state. Living conditions on reserves aren't as lavish as some of our homes. One in five Aboriginal people lived in a dwelling that was in need of major repairs in 2016, not only that people lived in . crowded housing.
