Prophetic – When they speak out against injustice, act to have human dignity, and work for authentic freedom and mutual respect within society

Kingly – Use whatever power and influence they have to an opportunity for Christian service and strive for social structures. Lay participation in the leadership and governance structures of the church.

EXAMPLES:

Priestly works – Catherine’s prayer books and daily prayer rituals are an example of priestly works. As explained above, her suscipe and prayers expressed her opinions on issues of her time.
Catherine McAuley's prayers were composed in a prayer book that she kept while she was alive. They express her faith and love for the religion and work that she carried out. They are still used today (although they have been adapted) in churches and schools. 
 The Suscipe explains the surrender of her life for God. Why she opened the "House of Mercy" and why she started the "Sisters of Mercy" - because it was a calling from God.

Prophetic – Preachings with “The Sisters of Mercy”. They preached about Poverty and the importance of shelter and education. This (among others) was Catherine's way of getting her message out to the people of the time.

Kingly - Her preaching’s with “The Sisters of Mercy", taught people within the Catholic Church to help others, then act on it. Using her 'platform' within the "Sisters of Mercy", Catherine preached and shared her opinion to the sisters, leading by example and beginning a legacy.

³⁴ “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. ³⁵ For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, ³⁶ I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

³⁷ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? ³⁸ When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? ³⁹ When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

⁴⁰ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

⁶ “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
    and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
    and break every yoke?
⁷ Is it not to share your food with the hungry
    and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe them,
    and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
⁸ Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
    and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness will go before you,
    and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
⁹ Then you will call, and the Lord will answer;
    you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.

“If you do away with the yoke of oppression,
    with the pointing finger and malicious talk,
¹⁰ and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
    and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
    and your night will become like the noonday.
