You knew what really mattered.  Enjoy planning your trip to Pennsylvania in February!  You are the only teacher I met in California that was more excited about Groundhog Day than me!  Be adventurous and totally enjoy this time.  You have touched many lives over the years and I’m sure you’ll continue to touch many more.

You have  been there since I came to Los Altos 22 years ago. We always had the same students and much of our teaching styles are so similar. I loved coming into your room to see all the amazing things your students were doing. I was equally excited to have your class come to support my students.  It was not only exciting for me but also my students. They all wanted to go to your class the following year.

I know that your dedication to your students can be felt even years later. When I taught 5th and 6th  at Monte Vista I always knew who your students were. They still remembered all the songs you sang, projects you did, and all the writing. That speaks volumes! They still loved you so much even in 5th and 6th grade. Only great teachers receive that kind of praise from 5th and 6th graders.

You have so many talents/gifts and they will continue to bless others even after you leave Los Altos.  You  are an amazing person  and I'm so happy that we became friends. This is not the end. It is just the beginning to another amazing part of your life.  True friends are always together in spirit.

You've made it! You finished that long journey that you began 36 years ago. You've had some ups and downs, and memories that will last a lifetime. You've met some wonderful people along the way, and some you could do without. Only focus on the positive, because the negative is not worth the energy. I am so proud of everything you've accomplished and the example you set for me and Michael as a teacher and a person. You gave everything you had and more. I know that many of your students will hear of your leaving and will think of the time they spent with you. They were lucky to have you as their teacher. 
Now it's time to rest and truly enjoy your life. With God's blessing we'll have many years together to look forward to. Welcome home Punkin!

Congratulations! Aside from being a phenomenal mother and wife, you've also had to juggle being an outstanding teacher!  I honestly don't know how you have managed it all these years. What I do know is that you have shown me what hard work looks like.  From every paper you've graded to every inservice you've attended, you've shown me that there is no "secret sauce" or shortcut to anything-just determination and the will to succeed.  
There have certainly been hard times, but there have also been great times. I hope you remember all the good you have done over the years and the positive impact you have had on so many over this long journey.  As for me, I will try my very best to live up to your example.
Now sit back and relax.  You've EARNED IT!

Like my little brother said your hard work and dedication to teaching kids is an amazing example for everyone one of us. When I am in my own classroom I often ask myself what you and pops would say. I have been blessed to have two sets of parents. I love coming to visit and spend time with you guys. The lives you have touched and changed as a teacher and colleague are too many to count. worked  closely as a team of outstanding teachers and supported each other through life’s challenges and now you can really slow down and enjoy new ways to celebrate your adventures.  Sleep in if you want, watch Netflix all night, run in the morning as usual and then take a walk later, go have lunch in Old Towne Placentia, decorate your home for even more days of the year,  and take some neat road trips! Enjoy time with family, friends,, neighbors and meet new interesting people. Develop new interests and hobbies if you like.
