The Ring - This is one of the biggest symbols throughout the book. It symbolizes corruption of power and sin. The ring causes people to feel dominant and urges dangerous evils. 2. Frodo - He represents us in our daily lives as Catholics. Just like Frodo, we sometimes struggle to destroy the temptation and sinful nature that comes our way. He nearly falls into the hands of evil but is saved by "the will of God".
3. The journey to Mount Doom- This was Frodo's journey to destroy sin and symbolizes Jesus' carrying the cross to save salvation.
