Parents or guardians sometimes tell you what to do and guide you to a different direction that they want you. Some people end up chasing their parents dream that they aren't happy with but because of pressure they go along with it. In the Great Gatsby Gatsby is not happy with his life as poor farmers so he goes out of his way to change it.
