The film is a modern take on Film Noir focusing on thriller and crime as genres. 
I liked how colourisation has been used to pick out key elements in a scene such as clothing, eye colour or blood. This creates drama and tension as well as demonstrating an artistic style to the film. Welles uses this style of lighting, as do many directors of the Film Noir genre. 

It is also common for films in the Noir genre to have lighting highlighting the scene by using the blinds as a style choice.
