1.  AFFIRMATIVE: We write sentences in the past, changing the verb in the past, but remember that we have two types of verbs: REGULAR VERBS AND IRREGULAR VERBS.

EXAMPLE:

REGULAR VERBS 

Simple present: They visit their grandma

Simple past: They visited the Real Madrid stadium last month

Simple present: She studies for her geography test

Simple past: Matt studied hard for his entrance exam

IRREGULAR VERBS

Simple present: My parents go to the cinema once a month.

Simple past: My parents went to the cinema last month. 

Simple present: I fly to The United States every year. 

Simple past: I flew to The United States last year

 

 

2.  NEGATIVE: We change into the negative form using the AUXILIARY DIDN'T and the main verb in the base form.

EXAMPLE:

REGULAR VERBS 

Affirmative: Peter declared against him 

Negative:   Peter didn’t declare against him 

Affirmative:. We catched a lot of crabs last week

Negative: We didn’t catch a lot of crabs last week

 

IRREGULAR VERBS

Affirmative: Luis bought a new car last year. 

Negative: Luis didn’t buy a new car last year.

Affirmative: Marco and Daniel ate Pachamanca yesterday. 

Negative: Marco and Daniel didn’t eat Pachamanca yesterday.

 

3.  QUESTION: We change to the interrogative form, putting the auxiliary DID at the beginning after that the subject, the verb and finally the question Mark.

EXAMPLE:

REGULAR VERBS 

Affirmative:. Jhon danced electronic music 

Interrogative: Did Jhon dance electronic music?

        - Yes, he did.

        - No, he didn’t.

Affirmative:. They helped an old man cross the street 

Interrogative: Did they help an old man cross the street?

        - Yes, they did.

        - No, they didn’t.

 

IRREGULAR VERBS

Affirmative: Magali saw a bear in the forest last week. 

Interrogative: Did Magali see a bear in the forest last week?

        - Yes, she did.

        - No, she didn’t. 

Affirmative: David and Jheancarlos had a meeting with their boss last night.  

Interrogative: Did David and Jheancarlos have a meeting with their boss last night?

        - Yes, they did.

        - No, they didn’t.

1.    Hemos aprendido a formar oraciones afirmativas y negativas en tiempo pasado con el  verbo TO BE (was , were) y las reglas de los demás verbos (regulares e irregulares), haciendo uso del auxiliar DID. 

Ejemplo:

I was ready / I was not ready      Þ To Be

They pulled a sheet of toilet paper / They didn´t pull a sheet of toilet paper Þ (Regular verb)

 

2.    Aprendimos a elaborar preguntas en tiempo presente y cambiarlas al tiempo pasado, respetando la regla gramatical para el verbo TO BE y los demás verbos regulares e irregulares.

 

Ejemplo: 

Are  you ready? / Were you ready? Þ  To Be

Does she watch TV? / Did she watch TV? Þ (Regular verb)

 

3.    Logramos aprender el tiempo pasado continuo en oraciones afirmativas, negativas e interrogativas.

Ejemplo:

You are raising your arm for thirty seconds  Þ Present Continuous

You were raising your arm for thirty secondsÞ Past Continuous

You weren´t raising your arm for thirty secondsÞ Past Continuous Negative Form

Were you raising your arm for thirty seconds?  Past Continuous Interrogative Form

 

4.    Elaboramos respuestas cortas para el tiempo pasado (simple y continuo), tomando en cuenta la estructura para responder.

 

Ejemplo:

 

Did you play football?

Yes, I did / No, I didn´t Þ  Short anwsers

 

Were we standing here at the door?

Yes, we were. / No, we weren´t. Þ  Short anwsers

Hoy aprendimos acerca del pasado simple, conjugamos en sus diferentes formas (affirmative, negative, interrogative and short answers). 

Aprendimos a hacer examples in past simple usando verbos, palabras y frases de trucos mágicos.

Aprendimos que hay verbos regulares e irregulares y que al utilizarlos en tiempo pasado algunos cambian por complete y otros se añade ed, d y ied.

Reforzamos a través de la retroalimentación los diferentes tiempos gramaticales del idioma (verbo To Be, presente simple, presente continuo y pasado continuo)

 

Examples

     Simple present 

-       We learn simple past today.

-       We don’t learn simple past today.

-       Do we learn simple past today?

-       Yes, we do.

-       No, we don’t or we do not.

 

Present continuos

 

-       We are learning simple past in this moment.

-       We aren’t learning simple past in this moment.

-       Are we learning simple past in this moment?

-       Yes, we are.

-       No, we aren’t or we are not.

 

 

Simple past

-       We learned simple past yesterday.

-       We didn’t learn simple past yesterday.

-       Did we learn simple past yesterday?

-       Yes, we did.

-       No, we didn’t or we did not.

 

Past continuos

 

-       We were learning simple past last week.

-       We weren’t learning simple past last week.

-       Were we learning simple past last week?

-       Yes, we were.

-       No, we weren’t or we were not.
