Someone asked me where I felt most peaceful. I immediately remembered my hometown DakLak. I was born and raised in a family in DakLak province which is located in the middle of Vietnam, and DakLak is a part of Central Highlands. The village where I lived has a very tranquil atmosphere and it is famous for coffee. My hometown is a small town and it takes about 10 hours drive from Hcm city to get there. It borders Gia Lai province to the north, Khanh Hoa province and Phu Yen province to the east, Lam Dong province and DakNong province to the south, and Cambodia to the west. Dak Lak province has 47 ethnic groups. Many of them are Kinh, Gia Rai, Ede, and Mnong .... Some of the early ethnic groups in the Dak Lak province are Ede and Mnong. My hometown has a tropical monsoon climate. There are two separate seasons in Dak Lak. The rainy season is from May to October and the dry season is from November to next April. The cool weather of the highlands in DakLak is a good condition for growing industrial plants such as coffee plants, rubber trees, and pepper plants. There are no pollution in my hometown because Daklak doesn’t have any industrial park and the air is so clean. DakLak has a tropical monsoon climate. Furthermore, it is famous for a lot of mountains and trees in my hometown, which helps clean the air. There are many festivals in Dak Lak province such as Buôn Ma Thuột Coffee Festival, Gong Festival, Elephant Racing Festival, and Buffalo Sacrifice Festival.

* Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival is held regularly every two years, usually at the beginning of the year. This is a major festival in the Central Highlands. The national festival not only honors the value of coffee plants but also promotes the image of Buon Ma Thuot city, the coffee capital. Over 70 percent of people in Daklak live by growing industrial plants and the people are so friendly, they help each other, for instance: when one family has a problem that needs more people, they will be ready to support.
