The University of Santo Tomas or (UST) College of Science's move to incorporate Filipino into its science courses is a bold step toward pushing linguistic inclusivity and intellectualizing the national language. This action, long advocated by Professor Emeritus Fortunato Sevilla III, makes official the application of Filipino in instructional and learning materials without downplaying the different linguistic backgrounds of students and with the assurance that the application of Filipino shall not impede their comprehension. Code-switching from Filipino to English is included in the college's strategy so that learning is made possible for everyone. For the outside the classroom, the project promotes research and publication in Filipino, also it enhancing the corpus of scientific literature in the national language and motivating students to conduct research in Filipino. The UST Department of Filipino fully supports this attempt, considering it as a key step towards intellectualizing the Filipino language and popularizing science education among more people. This project provides a good inspiration for other colleges and universities to surpass, showcasing the potential of Filipino as an instrument of empowerment and national development in the sciences.

In an effort to incorporate the national language into the science curriculum, the University of Santo Tomas College of Science has taken a commendable step by encouraging teachers to teach in Filipino. In addition to promoting inclusivity, allowing code-switching to better assist students from a variety of linguistic origins acknowledges Professor Fortunato Sevilla III's efforts. UST improves comprehension and respect of scientific concepts by strengthening the connection between students and the subject through the use of Filipino in teaching methods and resources. These initiatives serve as inspiration for other educational institutions and have a significant impact on how the Filipino language is taught.

Insight: As a student and part of this society, AI is a great help in terms of academics; it can be used as a source in paper works.

Lack of Creativity & Human Judgment

-AI follows patterns in data, but it lacks true creativity, intuition, and human emotions, making it less effective in tasks requiring deep understanding.

Nuclear Power as an Energy Source

-Using nuclear power as an energy source is very efficient and safe for our society. Nuclear energy, also known as clean energy technology, has nearly zero production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse emissions, which is very safe in our society since excessive carbon dioxide is usually the one that causes climate change in our environment. Lastly, nuclear energy is very efficient since it's nearly 8000 times more efficient than fossil fuels in terms of producing energy.

Drones in Law Enforcement and Surveillance

-The use of drones in law enforcement is quite useful since it can bring a lot of benefits in law enforcement, like extended surveillance capabilities, reduced need for manpower, and faster deployments for patrolling. Drones are up in the air; therefore, they can cover much bigger and farther areas than the naked eye, which is very efficient since instead of deploying many enforcers on the field, we can just deploy the drones and just make the law enforcement ready for action in case something unexpected happens.

One of the biggest initiatives by the University of Santo Tomas (UST) College of Science is a push for faculty teaching their courses in Filipino. The move is designed towards the inclusion of the national language in science teaching, making science education more accessible and inclusive. The students are also permitted to code switch between Filipino and English, since this practice can aid the learning process among students who fall into the diverse socio-linguistic labels. This is part of a larger advocacy to intellectualize the Filipino language and to champion the use of Filipino in academic.

UST College of Science's action to formally integrate Filipino into its curriculum is a step toward intellectualizing the national language and enhancing inclusivity. Such an action, upon the affirmation of Professor Sevilla's decade-long advocacy, demonstrates an intention to universalize science education for students. The deliberateness, with code-switching for inclusivity, exemplifies a balanced and respectful implementation. The partnership with the Filipino department and student organizations serves only to reinforce this commitment, guaranteeing a fuller and more meaningful learning experience for students. This action is a compelling model for other institutions to emulate.
