Content: I watched Nadim, Joseph and Michail's video about the Guatemalan genocide. The content of their video was excellent. They started off talking about Guatemala and how the genocide started, they mentioned background information on Guatemela. They went into depth on how the children and women were treated. In addition, they mentioned what happened to the people who tortured the people and if they were ever justified. However, sometimes they were just stating facts and didn't make a link between points.

Relevance: The information was very relevant to the task and topic. For example, at the beginning the gave some background information on Guatemala, however they kept it short and precise. The task was to create an article about the Guatemalan Genocide and they successfully completed the task. They didn't rant off about some other information that didn't fit with the aim of the video.

Presentation: I really liked their video as all three of them had extremely clear voices, only in the end, I noticed there was some background noises which kind of ruined the video but other than that they were very clear. Even though they didn't show their faces, it was still interesting because the tones of their voices were interesting and not flat. They had appropriate pictures during the video, however not all the pictures were of good quality and some of them were blurry.

Evidence of Effort: I can tell that they put a lot of effort, considering that it was Nadim's group (I don't mean it in a rude way). They didn't laugh during the video which showed that they were serious about it. Their video was more than two minutes long and it was presented in a clear way. All three of them spoke equally during the video.

Evidence for understanding the task: I can't really tell if they understood the genocide because their faces didn't show - it was just pictures. Even though it was spoken clearly and showed understanding they could've just as well been reading off the internet.

Why do you feel those behind the crimes might not have been justly punished? We feel that the people who committed those crimes were not justly punished due to the lack of human rights during that time and in that specific country. The co operation between organizations was weak and they didn't have control of the situation. Also the people who tortured the Mayans probably didn't have any choices and would've gotten killed if they didn't follow orders.

They also went into great depth about the Mayan population and the false assumption that their race was primarily communist.

Relevance:
The information was consistently relevant to the topic, and they did not go into too much or too little detail regarding the topic. They went into good detail about the US's influence and how they helped fuel the genocide. We believe they could have done a better job explaining and talking about the origins and the background of the Mayan population.

Presentation:
I believe the presentation could have been better as they would often pause and laugh whilst talking about serious topics. I think this was bad as it ruined the tragic mood.

Evidence of Effort:
They put in a lot of effort as they had a professional background and script and were constantly stating information that was well researched

Joseph, Nadim, Michail and Aarav's Video
Content:
This video had excellent information including the background information about the Guatemalan Genocide. The map shown at the start showed the location of Guatemala. I think this was good idea as I could understand the relationship with the cold war well. Also, they researched further information than what we researched last lesson.

Relevance:
The information was relevant to the topic. They added some more information than what we researched in the class before, which gave us deeper information about it. But the information didn't go too far from what we researched before in the class, so I could understand most of the information.

Presentation:
I could hear the voice well and information wasn't too complicated, which made it possible for me to understand most of the information. Pictures allowed me to understand the topic better.

Evidence of effort:
As I written above, they had some extra information than what we researched in the class on the previous lesson. This shows that they researched for more information during that short time. This explains that they was working hard for making this video.

Evidence for understanding the task:
There weren't any evidence that they understood the topic, but I think they understood the topic well. We only had 1 lesson to create the video, but they had a lot of information in the video. In such a short time, they were able to make a script and video. Due to this, I think they had understanding for this topic.

Why those crimes weren't punished?
I think they weren't punished because of the time period. When Guatemalan Genocide happened, the Cold War was going on in the world. The reason for the Genocide was to kill the group of communist people. This lead to the support of the USA. Since USA supported the Guatemalan army, they weren't punished for the Genocide.

However, their information was fairly solid, and I enjoyed their educational video. I also liked their unique idea of using a recording of a google maps image of Guatemala, as it makes the project differ from the rest.
Guatemalan Genocide by Joseph, Nadim, Michail and Aarav

Content/relevance: In Joseph's, Nadim's, Michail's and Aarav's video about the Guatemalan Genocide the information was very relevant and interesting. They talked about what happened during the Guatemalan genocide very diligently and they also included how the Mayan and Guatemalan people were tortured and killed. They also explained how the United States of America poured fuel on the already existing fire.

Presentation: The presentation was good but I feel that it would have been better to put background pictures that had a bit more to do with what was being said at the time and I also think that it would have been better to include more background pictures all together.

Evidence of effort: They put in a quite a bit of effort because all the information seemed to be hand picked and the background pictures must have been edited together by them.

Written by Eliott :3
