Multinationals go head to head following "ridiculous accusation"

Røtta’s largest employers; aquaculture company FishNor and silicone-producer ChemNor go head-to-head after FishNor’s manager blamed ChemNor for their “substantial decline in profits” over the course of the past year and a half. He believes that the chemical manufacturing business pollutes Lake Røtta by discharging “toxic chemicals” that are harming FishNor’s “sustainable seafood production”.

ChemNor chief executive Martin Andreassen calls the allegation “unfounded, absurd and potentially harmful to ChemNor’s reputation”. Andreassen goes on to say that “ChemNor has a great track-record when it comes to conscientiously monitoring the chemicals that enter and exit our facilities.”

Both companies have hired a team of investigators to investigate the matter.

Before those bastards blame us for using antibiotics… we DON'T. Don’t need to because we vaccinate against furunculosis, vibriosis, coldwater vibriosis, winter-ulcer and IPN. FishNor says that they know NOTHING about the water's chemical quality, and the content of chemicals in general. The local community believes it is critical that the industry that provides them with food has so little control. 
Fortunately, the media is here B) 

High use of copper alloy mesh has been demonstrated. NOT GOOD?!?!?  We will look more into this, and whether this could be a response to endocrine disruption

Yes we do care about the fish, that is why we use innovative and more fish friendly nets. This net allows for constant waterflow while also reducing maintenance and therefore the fish is less disturbed.

They release 0.28 kg of heavy metals a year.

Do they really have a control over the water used by contract partners or do they just trust them? this amount us 580000 m3.

They do not have control over the chemicals in the ground, these could leach, do they have control over this. They have chlorinated compounds in the ground, claim they have control over groundwater levels, but this leaches everywhere.

The amount of nitrogen is of large concern to us.

ChemNor says they are transparent about their use of chemicals. What are the specific chemicals they are putting into the water? Do they have any good data on this?
Have they changed their production over time? We have not, and we see a change in our fishes.

The former claim that there was no endocrine activity response to their waste water was found to be a mistake. However, they emphasize that they have been completely transparent throughout the whole process, unlike FishNor. Are ChemNor right about FishNor hiding something??

ChemNor calls for FishNor to be more transparent, and wants them to give some sort of evidence for their claims that ChemNor is responsible for the decline/disruption of fish health.

The media is awaiting a response from FishNor, especially regarding the copper alloy mesh that are in use!

Although FishNor is not aware of it itself, there are many good sources that indicate that Copper Alloy Mesh can leak Cu into the water, especially at the start. Just wanted you guys to know. <3

We have observed an increase in abnormal development of out fish in our fish farm.

A large portion of our fish at first sight seem to be fine, but an investigation by the Vetenary institute.

The growth rate of fish has been monitored and in recent years has decreased significantly.

We have faced allegations that the well-being of the fish is not in our best interest. We take the well-being of our fish seriously and therefore use innovative mesh made out of an copper alloy. This does not leach copper while also actively reducing the amount of antibiotics.

Of high concern for us is the wastewater of ChemNor. We are highly concerned by the chlorinated compounds found soil on the ChemNor site. They claim to have control over the water, but these compounds have shown to leach in to water bodies and have developmental effects on organisms. Connected to these activities we are also concerned by the high amount of moved soil form ChemNor since this disturbs the delicate eco system.
