Emil Berliner finally manages to create a rotary engine for the helicopter, which was used by other inventors. After a few years, several tests and prototypes came to nothing. It wasn't until 1938 that German Anton Flettner created the first truly functional helicopter. FL 265 kick-started everything we know about helicopter flying today. A few years later, 1940, the FL 282 Kolibri takes the lead, this being an improved version of its brother.

As you can see, there is not a single inventor, but several extremely intelligent minds that over the years have been creating and developing more assertive projects. Over time, industries took over the process and we arrived at current models.
