         <description><![CDATA[<div>The book starts with Jeannette Walls riding in a cab in New York, on the way to an event, when she see's her mother on the side of the rode digging through the trash. Jeannette slides down in her set in hopes that her mother does not see her and ruin the secret of her past she has been trying so hard to hide. The book then goes in to a recap of Jeannette's childhood, and the shameful secret she has been hiding for all these years. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Jeannette was a child to a father who was an alcoholic and a mother who was a failed artist so they were also on the run. When she was 3 years old Jeannette was trying to fix her own lunch and burned herself and spent many weeks in the hospital. After weeks there her father took her out without paying the bill and before paying. A few years later for Christmas their her father gave her a star and that is something that Jeannette also held dear to here. Even though Jeannette was also moving she always was advance in her schooling, and her father thought her street smarts. For a while her and her siblings were sleeping in boxes and she said those were some of her best memories.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Jeannette lived in Arizona and California util she was six, her parents would move when they gathered to much debt. When she turned 7 the family moved to Nevada, then moved backed to Arizona then to Welch. Jeannette's father would also promise that they would do all this moving so they could earn money to build them a glass castle. When Jeannette turned 18 and there was still no glass castle she moved to New York to pursue her dreams of being a writer. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>At the end of the book Jeannette's older sister starts to save money so she can move to New York and get away from her parents, but their father stole the money before she had the chance to leave. Her older sister started saving again and made her way to New York taking the train their from Welch. Once Jeannette's older sister from a place to live and Jeannette turned 18 she also made her way to New York. A few Years later her younger sister and brother joined them out there, believing that they final got away from their parents. &nbsp;Jeannette went to college while living in New York and got a job at a News paper company. </div>]]></description>

Jeannette talks about her life and the worries she had about releasing the secrets of her childhood. She thought her friends would stop talking to her if they knew her parents lived on the street, but said that how her parents wanted to live. Later her father passed away and her stops by every once in a while to say hello to all her children &nbsp;</div>]]></description>
