When Morrie was a teenager his father tried to get him a job. The two went to the same factory his father worked at, and Morrie was appalled. As young as he was, he understood the horror and abuse going on in these sweatshops. It seems that Morrie was always wired to be more understanding, and his environment growing up let that part of him grow. It's very inspiring to see Morrie stick to his beliefs no matter what.

Morrie lost his mother at a very young age. Because of this his father eventually found someone else. When his father found a woman he told Morrie to stop speaking of his mother. This was very difficult for Morrie to have gone through, but he still managed. He has always had an unshakable will to continue moving forward since childhood.
