It was birthday of His Majesty, Yang Di-Pertuan Agong. But surely, we had been given our first task by our instructors. There was no leisure time for me as I need to find articles for the article review’s assignment. It was quite difficult to find the article as assigned and I searched at many websites to find the good article. On Wednesday, Mr.Furkan talked a bit about how to write our lesson plan for our microteaching task. Mr.Furkan taught us how to produce or to design a good lesson plan. So many tips had been given to us. He explained thoroughly about all the components needed in our lesson plan Plus, we also need to do the write up for our lesson plan until the closure part.

In the tutorial class on Wednesday, Mr.Furkan briefly explained to us about the lesson plan that we need to design by our own for our microteaching soon on week 6. He talked a bit about the bloom taxonomy, exposed us to the DKSP, KBSM and also KSSM.

In this model, it involves 4 stages of curriculum construction which are objectives, content, method and lastly evaluation. As for me, I think that this model is a simple and organized model for curriculum construction because it has a direct step for us to follow if we going to construct a curriculum. Mr. Furkan taught us in one go in the lecture about this model. We finally finished the first model of Curriculum construction. Then, he continued with second, third and forth model of curriculum construction which are the Interaction model/dynamic model, Taba’s model and lastly he finished with the contemporary model.  In the tutorial class on Wednesday, we do our consultation about our lesson plan with Mr.Furkan.

So Mr.Furkan generously spared us some times until next week; week 7, for the first 6 presenters to be more prepared. This 6^th week, it was indeed a busy week for all of us as students also the lecturers. Everyone works really hard to make the event going smoothly as it planned. Then, as usual, we did our consultation regarding on our lesson plans with Mr. Furkan.

He started to teach us regarding the curriculum evaluation which it is essential to curriculum development, implementation and also maintenance. The function of this curriculum evaluation also acts as the way for us to check the effectiveness of certain curriculum that have been constructed and applied to the students. Then, we were taught about CIPP model for evaluation whereas it consists of four components which are context, input, process and product evaluation. On Wednesday, we had our very first 6 microteaching presentations. On Wednesday, we proceed with the second batch of microteaching presentations who were Amira, Ameera Atika, Qistina, Zafri, Diyana and also Nadiah. For this time around they delivered their microteaching in the laboratory, well as being taught every teacher need to be flexible in whatever situations. I am amazed by Zafri’s trees teaching aids in 3D. It was so mesmerizing. Plus, I loved the way Qistina delivered her microteaching, because I like her voice.

There are few roles and functions of CDD and what I was really remember; it disseminates and implements the curriculum that had been constructed. For example for this is the textbook, if it does not relevant not reliable and valid with the course contents then it should be disseminates. After he explained everything, then I know that this CDD thing is actually the ‘Jemaah Nazir’ that often go to school. He also briefly explained us about the National Education Philosophy, and I also had acknowledged more about the history of curriculum development in Malaysia. I learnt a lot in the lecture given by him for this week. Next on Wednesday, we had another batch of presenter which were Asyraf, Fatin Amira, Solehah, Aiman, Solehatun Auni and also Syazana. I loved Fatin Amira, Solehatun Auni and Syazana microteaching. Plus, their teaching aids also nice.

We learned about instructional objectives and also instructional materials. Instructional objective constructed is to help teachers, administrators and society to assess the product of the system. The objectives must be observable and measurable in term of to assess the students understanding and what the students able to do after they mastered the curriculum. This instructional objective based on the bloom’s instructional objectives that consist of three domain; cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domain. Next, in instructional material topic, we learned about the principles, design, utilization and evaluation that involving teaching and learning, and in this topic there are two model that being used to guide the teachers in order to prepare those teaching materials; assure and addie model. On Wednesday, we had our microteaching presentation. This week was my turn to do the microteaching, with another five of my classmates. As the first timer teaching, I realized that I did not do my best in the microteaching. I have a lot of flaws in teaching that I need to improve. I think, Aina Razali did her best in this microteaching because I can see she was confident in delivering her points. All in all, I learnt a lot from all of them plus all the comments that given by Mr.Furkan and my classmates I will take into account.

So Mr.Furkan decided to have two session of microteaching. On Monday, we had four presenters who were Izzati, Wan Syakirah, Shafiqa, and also Leona. Then we proceed the microteaching session on Wednesday with another six; Raihan, Ain Jaafar, Fadhillah, Amirah Fakhira, Azlin and lastly Farhani. It was fun and enjoyable in their microteaching session. They had set new benchmarks for this microteaching in our class. They did great! Their teaching aids also splendid thus the most beautiful teaching aids were Azlin and Farhani. I loved the way they handle the classroom. I really had a great time.

I think, Nasuha and Nasrin did well in their  microteaching. I like the way Nasuha interact with the audience and also I still could remember Nasrin spitted her tongue when she pronounces ‘sugus’ as ‘gujus’. Then, after the microteaching session is done, Mr.Furkan then briefly explained us about our last task which course design.

To be honest, it was quite difficult to produce a course design with the good curriculum contents. We need to be very particular and thinking outside of the box to create a good course design. We tried our best to find all the information that can be used in our course design. We went to see Mr. Furkan to proposed our idea for few times, for the whole week, we just still brainstorming the ideas and still cannot came out with curriculum constructions, while the others group already started their write up about it. Then, at the end we finally finalized our target customers and we can do the curriculum also the need analysis. For us to do the need analysis is the hardest part in designing this course design and not to forget to create the questionnaires. We actually did not have any experiences regarding on constructing the questionnaires, but we tried to do our best to complete the task given on time. Constructing the course also was the crucial part. I am really grateful with my group members because they gave their full cooperation in doing this assignment. We worked days and nights just to produce a good course design. Thus, this teamwork had strengthened our friendship among my classmates.
