2. I want to see the art the most. i have never seen art that good before. The artists were really not afraid to paint what they were feeling, and express themselves. I also get a vibe that they are communicating with the people, but they just use art to do it.

3. For Madrid, I want to try all of it, but I want to try all the different ham that they had.

4. For both Madrid and Barcelona, they both had some really harsh and historical tings happen to them. They had wars, they had people dying, they didn't even have their own independence at one point. All that to say, they didn't stop living. When a building was wrecked, they rebuilt it. Not only did they rebuild it, they strove to make it better then the last one. When people do that, you know right away that these people are brave, really strong, and will stop at nothing to do what they need to do.

1. Madrid - I found the castles and the paintings of the monarchy very interesting, especially the one from the point of view of the monarchs being painted. I also thought the bull riding bar was really cool.

Toledo - This city not having any new buildings was really interesting. Also the diverse religions in the area made Toledo seem like a nice place to visit.

2. I want to see the unique architecture of Madrid and Toledo. I would really like to just spend a few days walking around the streets, going into shops and restaurants.

3. I’d like to try the pig’s ear dish, I haven’t heard of that before, and it looked really good.

4. Spain, along with all of Europe, have a very interesting history with monarchs and wars that the US doesn’t have. I think visiting would be a bit of a culture shock, but I also think it would be very enlightening to see a country that has so much history. While I don’t think monarchy is a good form of government, I think it's still interesting to see the long-lasting effects of monarchy on a country.

3. I’d like to go to the restaurant that served sandwiches on toothpicks. They looked good and I want to try that. I’d also like to get a churro.

4. I thought it was odd how fascist leaders would ban flags. I know they banned the original flag of Puerto Rico, and I relate that to the banning of the Catalonia flag. I guess it’s common for bad leaders to dislike flags that celebrate the culture of their people.

Barcelona

1) I was interested in how the Royal Palace was built by Philip V, and he was French. However, he ruled Spain for 40 years, continuing to stay very French throughout the years. The Palace has 2,000+ rooms, and it has lion statues to symbolize the might of the monarchy.

2) I want to see Madrid's center, and the Valley of the Fallen most. I am very interested in seeing the Monument and the victims in Spain's Civil War. I also want to see Madrid's center because it is a place where I can see a lot of monuments.

3) I want to try the different jamón's and see how they taste different when the pigs eat different foods. This was also very interesting to me because I never knew that they could taste differently.

4) In Toledo, España, it is made up of Christians, jews, and Muslims along with a lot of Arabic architecture.

Barcelona:

1) What interested me in Barcelona was that when Picasso's best friend died from Suicide, he started painting his blue paintings. This is when he started painting with all blue, and he painted what he felt instead of what he saw. These paintings are very impactful, and can show how someone feels despair.

2) I want to walk through the Gothic Corner and see the towers from the Roman wall that was there to protect the city during that time. The stones at the bottom were there from the 4th century, and if you go inside one of the buildings, you can see the original columns that are still there.

3) If I were to go to Barcelona, I would go to the Tapas bar and try the variety of foods they serve there.

4) I took away that Catalunya has its own distinct language, history, and flag (yellow and red horizontal lines).

1. i found the royal palace very interesting, the amount of priceless and unique artifacts inside and the architecture is really fascinating.

2. as for Madrid, i would really want to see and explore the royal palace the most.

3. The food i would be most interested in trying would be the churros con chocolate! and probably the pig ear, because it's unique.

   1. The Sagrada Familia is incredibly interesting! The amount of work and dedication being put into such an beautiful building is so fascinating.

   2. The place i would want to go to the most in Barcelona would be the Sagrada Familia, and the Picasso museum.

Interesting - It was interesting to learn that the palaces were made so a King could establish a dynasty. We saw this with King Phillip II creating El Escorial. We also saw it with Phillip V and Madrid's Royal Palace. These palaces also served as a headquarters for the King and their dynasties.

See most - One of the top places I would want to visit would be Madrid's Royal Palace. It was built in the 1700’s by Philip V. It is incredible to me that buildings and architecture from back then have survived for so long and still look beautiful. The palace is massive with over 2,000 rooms and decked in chandleries, tapestries and paintings. I feel like being in there would be breathtaking.

Food - Ham or Jamón is probably the food I would want to try the most. There were so many different types which would be fun to all try. I love prosciutto which the Jamón reminded me of.

Reflections - The main thing I took away from the videos is just how beautiful everything is. The paintings, the architecture, the dancing. It all is very elegant and would be great to see in person.

Barcelona:

Interesting - I think the most interesting thing about Barcelona is that the main language is Catalan even though most would assume that it's Spanish. It's also interesting that they also speak Spanish, it's just not their primary language.

See Most - I would want to go to Plaza Catalunya because it is the epicenter of the city. It is lively and bright with statues showing the most important Catalan figures.

Food - There was a Basque bar that he showed that looked really delicious. They served open face sandwiches of all kinds.

Reflection - My main reflection would be how Barcelona has struggled at different times but has now transformed into one of the most desirable destinations to travel to. I also loved all the interesting architecture and buildings.

1 . I thought it was intriguing that they have a large variety of ham to pick from, ranging from different regions as well as flavoring.

2 . I wanna see both a bull fight and Madrid's Royal Palace. A bull fight would be incredibly cool to see in real life as that's something you usually see in shows or depicted in stories. The Royal Palace would be cool to visit because it's a beautiful building that has lasted years upon years.

3 . I think I would want to try the pig ear if I got the chance, it's something that stands out to me and a lot of people have never tried it.

Barcelona

1 . They actually don't speak traditional Spanish, instead they speak a dialect of Spanish, Catalan. Catalan is a mix between French and Spanish, which I found really interesting.

2 . One place in Barecelona that I would want to visit is the Plaza Catalunya. I would want to visit it because it is the center of the city, and it holds wonderful statues that display important pieces of their history.

3 . Around 3 minutes into the recording there is a list of foods popular in Barcelona. One that stood out to me was Brocheta de Canarones and I would love to try it.

4 . Both cities are very unique and interesting in their own ways. The contrast they have from one another is something that makes them really stand out to me.

1. I thought the architecture was the most interesting. There are so many unique styles, colors, and textures.

2. One of the places I really want to go to is a bull bar. I am not the biggest fan of bull fighting itself. However, I would like to see everything related to the bar. I think it is so interesting how invested and dedicated people are to the sport.

3. I was very surprised and slightly jarred that people eat pig ears. I don't think I could eat one. I would be interested in trying Toledo's marzipan.

Barcelona

1. The most interesting thing to me was Gaudi's unfinished architecture. I do not think I could start something and continue to work on it knowing I would never see it finished.

2. I want to see the La Sagrada Familia church. It looks so beautiful and almost not real. The attention to detail in every nook and cranny is so interesting.

3. If I ever go to Spain I will definitely be going on a tapas tour. I love potatoes so this is right up my alley!

4. I do not have much to reflect on other than that Barcelona, Toledo, and Madrid are breathtaking places with beautiful architecture. I wonder how they maintain all the buildings.

1. I find it interesting that Madrid is very much geared towards tourists, with its sidewalks and former parking lots turned to squares, as well as it's beautiful old buildings.

4. I really like that in Toledo, you just wander around and see where you end up.

Barcelona

1. I find all of the background and history about Barcelona so interesting, especially the flags history.

2. I would love to visit all the markets! I love the bustle around it, with all of the options and clutter.

3. The churros y chocolate seems sooo yummy!

4. I love how different Barcelona is from America. The markets, the animals for pets, the communities, even just the amount of people being in the moment with each other.

2. I want to see the royal palace, so many rooms! I probably wouldn't be able to see it all in one lifetime.

1. i found it interesting that during the 1930 that area was the last pockets of resistance against the fascist dictator francisco franco

2. one thing that i would want to see is the little bit of the temple that used to crown barcelona that is still up to this day

3. i want to try some of their meals from the place where they have tooth ics in everything and when its time to pay all you have to do is could your tooth pics

4. i got to learn that there is still parts of a temple up in barcelona and that the olympics helped them transform a part of barcelona

1. I think that the the fact that they have such beautiful architecture yet still have green spaces all over the city and didn't let buildings take over everything.
