When I was at school, we always had a vacation at this time. It stood for that most of the pupils were out of the city. And I suffered from the situation my birthday was never celebrated with children.

But for my ten-year birthday, my parents decided to throw a party for me. While my mother was thinking about how to entertain us, I wrote invitations to my friends and mailed them as no one had telephones then.

Unfortunately, before the day of the party came, I had not received any confirmation that someone would come.

It was the most disappointing birthday party in my life. I bawled my eyes out as only two of the ten friends invited were with me. 

A week after the vacation had finished, the rest of my friends said they had received the invitation with delay.
