"CDE’s RtI2 processes focus on students who are struggling and provide a vehicle for teamwork and data-based decision making to strengthen their performances before and after educational and behavioral problems increase in intensity."

¶ RtI2 are universal screening, multiple tiers with of intervention, data driven decision making, have problem solving teams and they focus on CCSS. Although it has many similarities to MTSS, with RTI2 approach is important because it is more specific because with MTSS there is more of a broader approach.

“In California, MTSS is an integrated, comprehensive framework that focuses on CCSS, core instruction, differentiated learning, student-centered learning, individualized student needs, and the alignment of systems necessary for all students’ academic, behavioral, and social success”

The reason I selected that particular idea is because I believe it is important for all learners to have access to learning while they all are able to experience different types of strategies that will lead them towards success. It’s essential for educators to have different tools available for all types of learners. Every student has different classroom needs and teachers should be able to fulfill each one by emphasizing on differentiated instruction. Differentiated instruction is important because it keeps all students engaged and it meets each one of their needs. It’s a great concept to keep advanced learners engaged, and provide struggling students with the tools they need to succeed. It's important for teachers to also differentiate the product that learners will provide. IEP students and EL students should be allowed a differentiated process to achieve their objectives.

"MTSS addresses the needs of all students in education context."
The MTSS addresses the needs of all students in an education context by being in all aspects of education. MTSS promotes district participation in supporting systems for alignment of resources within the site and grade level. Meaning all students will be receiving the same support. MTSS also addresses additional support for students who are high achievers. Also includes support for high level instructions because they believe that every student no matter their educational, physical, financials or disabilities, can learn.
