Shakespeare's Histories were a tribute to the British monarchy and britain itself. With these tributes, Shakespeare attempted to “Legitimize Elizabeth's position in throne” and position himself as a writer.

Shakespeare created over 1700 words and has given us many phrases such as "Neither here nor there," and "The short of the long of it." One example of the many people Shakespeare has inspired John Keats.
