Book Review By: Ariana Rivera
If you were Ravi would you make a first impression of Joe?  Well, in Save Me a Seat  by Sarah Weeks and Gita Varadarajan, Ravi made a bad impression of Joe. Then he started to hang it with Dillion (The bully).“ Eyes are the window to the world.” Says Ravi’s mom. Well that is not often true unless you got the wrong understanding of it. Ravi thought that he would make a correct first impression.He started to hang out with Dillion and then he was turning into a bully too! But then, he realized that Dillion wasn’t his friend  he was just using him,and he had done something wrong  to Joe. They then worked together to get back at Dillion and right before their eyes they had became friends.

          This book has won a few awards. They are as followed, “The Kirkus Prize 2016 Nominee, Young Readers”, “Kirkus Reviews Best Books of 2016, Middle-Grade”, “2017 Capitol Choices, Ten to Fourteen”,  “CSMCL Best Multicultural Books of 2016” and last but not least, the “2016 Cybils Finalist, Middle Grade Fiction”. I was really shocked when Ravi decided to hang out with them and I thought that he had noticed the whole time that he was just using him and stealing his school supplies. I am also very glad that Ravi and Joe are now friends. I hope you’ll read it it is a very good book. The author, Sarah Weeks has many other books. But Gita Varadarajan doesn't have any other books.
