Gandalf is a wizard who always seems to know more then what he really shows. He helped the dwarves and when he has private thoughts he never tells anyone.

Thorin is the leader of the dwarves on the trip they are on and they are all trying to get their treasure back from Smaug. 

Gollum is a creature who lives deep in the caves in the mountains and covers his magic ring. But then loses it and Bilbo finds it.

Smaug is a dragon who loves in a mountain and its lonely 

Bard is a grim who is the captain of the guard in a lake town and there is a city next to the lake but Bard finds smaugs weak spot and kills him.

Beorn is a man who can turn into a bear and he helps Bilbo and the dwarves escape from the goblins.
