         <description><![CDATA[<div>According to this school counselor, collaboration is the process of sharing ideas and resources with colleagues and utilizing each others strengths and weaknesses to help one another reach a common goal. It is a great way to share ideas and complete tasks but it requires individuals who are open-minded and able to communicate. Her experience working individually as a counselor taught her the importance of&nbsp;collaborating and she continues to do it every day in her career. Finding time for collaboration seems to be an obstacle for her and others within the school setting.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In discussing co-teaching, this school counselor did not have much experience in it besides providing counseling lessons to students and faculty alongside other counselors and administrators. Co-teaching involves sharing the responsibility with another individual of preparing and delivering a lesson or teaching plan. Co-teaching requires openness to other ideas and perspectives as well as a mutual understanding of what needs to be accomplished. Co-teaching is something she is less open to doing but is willing to do when necessary. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This counselor defined consultation as a brief interaction between individuals in which ideas are shared. A friendly and open-minded attitude are necessary for this to occur and a good rapport is also beneficial. Communication skills are necessary as well as the ability to be adaptable were noted. In consulting with others, data, releases, and a willingness to be open and listen are necessary. As with collaboration, time seems to be an obstacle for this to occur.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>According to this school teacher, collaboration occurs when individuals work together and share information and resources. As an educator, collaboration allows her to feel more organized, its saves time, it is beneficial for the kids, and it saves prep time. Collaboration is something that occurs all of the time for her and requires communication skills and organization. Her access to resources within the school has helped facilitate effective collaboration while trouble coordinating schedules has made it difficult at times for collaboration to occur.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Co-teaching involves implementing and planning a lesson as a team. A mutual understanding of the task at hand, open-mindedness, and consistency are important for co-teaching. Different perspectives and goals as well as timing issues can become barriers to co-teaching but it  helps relieve the burden of the classroom from a single teacher. This teacher used the phrase "two heads are better than one" to explain the benefits of co-teaching in the classroom. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This teacher defined consultation as an interaction in which a more knowledgeable professional provides suggestions and opinions to a less knowledgeable individual. This could be a supervisor or a higher power within the school. These interactions help facilitate growth and allow for an outside perspective. An individual has to be open-minded and open to receiving information as well as being flexible and adaptable. Once again, timing seems to be a barrier to these interactions.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>For this co-teacher, collaboration is defined as working together and sharing ideas and knowledge with at least one other individual in the hopes of achieving a shared goal. As an educator, collaboration allows for this individual to learn more and to save time in planning. As a co-teacher, collaboration is constantly occurring and happens with other teachers, parents, and administration. Finding time during the school day can be difficult for her but weekly co-teacher meetings and frequent interactions with parents and administrators helps to facilitate these interactions. A friendly attitude, an open-mind, and a mutual goal are necessary for collaboration to occur.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Co-teaching is clearly big in this individual's job. Everyday she works with another teacher to develop and implement lessons. The co-teaching relationship its supportive and allows for the teachers to provide the students with better assistance. In this relationship, strengths and weaknesses are tested and an individual must be self-aware and a good communicator in order for this relationship to be most effective. Finding time to develop the co-teaching relationships can be difficult as well as finding two personalities that properly mesh can be difficult. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This co-teacher defined consultation as a process of sharing knowledge and resources with another individual. Consultation can occur with teachers, administrators, as well as parents.&nbsp;Consultation is more brief than collaboration and is more about sharing ideas and knowledge with another. Consultation requires time as well as a rapport between the individuals in the interaction. An openness to hearing knowledge is important as well as the ability to be flexible when accepting the information.</div>]]></description>
