on the 28th of september i had to work in groups of 2/3’s with gabbie i groomed a bearded dragon. i done this by firstly getting the bearded dragon on a towel whalst gabbie got warm water and poured it in a tray, we put the bearded dragon in the tray and poured water onto it. we done this because the lizard was shedding and if it is in warm water then it comes off easier the skin wouldn’t come of the lizard by just pulling it so i had to get a cotton bud and dip it in the warm water and gently wipe the shedded skin off his face eventually it came of. after that, we took the lizard out and dried it with a towel and checked for any unusual signs that would mean the lizard is ill or something is wrong, we checked and there was nothing wrong but it still had shredded skin on it so we wrote it down so the next group who would do this task will know that it will be ready to come off. after writing it down we tided our area and put everything away where it goes and also cleaned the trey that the lizard was on.

I done this by putting a towel on a table and then putting the rabbit on the towel i got a rabbit grooming brush and a soft brush and a comb it’s fur and check for fleas, lice or ticks. we checked if the rabbits ears were healthy by putting a cotton bud in its ear to clean them with, i also used my hands to take most of the excess hair off the rabbit. i done this to ensure that the rabbit didn’t have any knotted hair because the rabbit is getting its winter coat so it is shedding allot. After grooming his back and head i had to pick the rabbit up with one hand on its belly and one hand on its bum and hold its back against me so it had sopport and it felt comfortable so it didn’t get scared whalst one of my group members brushed its belly the same way we done it’s back. Finally, we had finished brushing it so we cut the rabbits nails because they needed cutting we made sure we didn’t cut the blood vessel by checking where it stops.

on the 7th of november as a group we all went into the mearcats enclosure and we viewed if they were stressed or not. there wasn’t any big signs of them being stressed but there was one main one, the alphamale was standing on the branch because it heard a plane going over it’s enclosure and the rest of the mearcats ran inside as the alphamail stood there to look out if there is any big danger as it could not see the airoplane but it could hear it, so it was stressed because it thought that something was going to get it.
