I buy my food from stop and shop and the local farmers market. My family purchases food based on what we will be eating for the week. We typically balance our diets with more healthy food then junk food purchased. I do intend to change my purchasing habbits. I consume healthy food but i do to change my liquid intake beacause everything I drink is filled with sugar. I will not purchase soda and juices and stick to drinking water and fiberous juices.

My mom buys our food from a variety of food stores including Costco, Shop Rite, and Trader Joe's. We tend to buy organic and healthy food, although this is not the case 100% of the time. If I could change the purchasing habits, I would ensure that all of the food is organic and fresh (preferably grown locally). This would not only be beneficial to the health of my family, but it would also support farmers who are practicing more environmentally friendly habits.

After watching FRESH, I am definitely going to change my purchasing and food consumption habits as I will look into where my food is being processed and will also look to purchase fresher, healthier foods from places such as farmer markets.

My mom buys food from stop and shop, whole foods, and trader joes. She tries to buy exclusively organic foods. For example, she always buys organic milk, eggs, and fresh produce. However, we do also buy some junk food. I am a vegetarian which limits my consumption of processed meats and unhealthy foods. However, I still should change my eating habits by substituting other processed foods for locally grown and organic fruits and vegetables. Also, instead of just letting my mom buy the groceries I could be more aware of the types of foods she is buying.

We do most of the shopping at Trader Joes because their food has a higher quality at a better price because it is not a name brand. The produce is always fresh and the meat is organic. However I would like to change my purchasing habits to consuming more locally grown produce and meats.

Personally, like I was saying in question 6, I buy a lot of fast food. However, my mother always buys food either from the Farmer’s Market (whenever it's in Madison she makes it a priority to go) or from Trader Joe’s. My mother bases her spendings on how healthy the food is, I kinda just base mine on how cheap and easily accessible it is. I want to change my habits to that of my mother’s, and after watching this documentary, I think I will.

When shopping at Shoprite, the biggest factor in buying our food is not the health benefits, but most likely the price.

Follow up #1
We agree that theoretically we should be eating healthier but realistically, we know that with college in future that it will be hard to get the fresh organic food since access to this food will harder depending on location and meal plan and that it may be more expensive than our budgets will allow.
Follow up #2
We think that will try to feed our children better organic food and build it into our budget since we believe that we should support local farms and feed our children the most nutritious food possible.

We think that now that we better understand how the animals are treated and how the plants are coated in chemicals that we will most likely change some of our habits and try to eat organically whenever possible. We also think that we would most likely feed our children similarly to how we are fed because all of our parents do a good job of buying fruits and vegetables and meats that are organic.

Our group believe that it is too early to say if we will be buying organic food for our children. There are still not clear studies that say how much better organic food is than non-organic, and the positive and negative effects. As we are in an era of technological innovation, it is very possible that the type of food we eat could be completely changed in the next 10 years. Therefore, it is too early to make a decision either way.
