This would be a whole class read that leads into whole class discussion. The language used is simplistic although there is a few longer words that they may struggle with, such as ‘meteor’ or ‘astronaut’. 
1. After reading this book, I may ask the children questions such as ‘what would you like to be when you grow up? And why is that?’
2. I may also do a activity on stars and space such as name the different plants, this could be a cross curriculum theme that links with art, science, maths and pshe.
3. 2. Use as a starting point to introduce diversity discussions.

This links well with other subject areas and the children may do research into chocolate and how it is made, fair trade etc. As this is with key stage 2 I would section this down maybe reading one chapter and carrying out a few activities such as
1. Before even reading the book i may show the children the front cover and ask them to explain their thoughts on what may occur within the book, asking who has seen or heard of this book. 
2. Character profiles , the children can describe a character and how they feel when receiving the ticket. Eg Augustus may be excited to try new chocolates, Violet may seem unbothered on the outside but secretly overwhelmed.

1. I may use this story by describing to the children a scene and asking them to draw the character or scene. This can then lead to them creating a story or review.
2. I may lead this into a comprehension task from a section of the story, asking questions such as ‘what was michaels first reaction when he found the creature?’ 
3. 2. I may get the children to design their own broom and the animals they may have. They could talk to the class about why they chose this animal.
3. Write what happens next.
