Week 2: Look at Jersey City as a system: what are the different parts to help it function? Start by looking at the economy as a system, including Shop Rite; goods and services, needs and wants

Week 3: Explore transportation as a system - how is it connected to the economy (goods and services transported to stores)? How do we get to school? In-depth study of JC Light Rail system

Week 4: What public services help our community function- police stations, fire stations , hospitals, schools and parks; how electricity and plumbing works within a home

Week 5: Explore government as a system - laws and rules, our responsibilities as citizens, function of the mayor

Week 6: Unit Wrap-up / Summative Assessment
