For the most recent project, the process of the project was very simple. It wasn't hard to write based on your own free will and imagination. I enjoyed the writing process of the project, making the story interesting was my top priority. I disliked the design process, making the project look nice with limitations is difficult. Some changes that I would like for the project is for the focus to be on the writing instead of the design. My impression of ELA now is much lighter than before because before I couldn't write as well as I do now. For the next 9th graders, I would say that they shouldn't be afraid to be in Ms. Amponsah's class, accept the challenge, and that you will grow throughout the year.

Creative Project - Christopher Friend

The process for our Odyssey creative project was pretty fun because I could express my own visions for what I would expect to happen in the Odyssey. What I had enjoyed about this project was of me having to actually think creatively to get this project done. Another thing I enjoyed about this project was being able to rewrite parts of the Odyssey because some parts were just boring and sometimes didn't make sense. I didn't really dislike this project as it had pushed me to be more creative. If this project was to be implemented in next years class some changes would be to give some more options in terms of letting the students express themselves with the Odyssey. My impressions now of Ela are that it's stressful and a bit hard because of how much work we would get. At the beginning of the school year I thought Ela was gonna be hard because I have been struggling with it for awhile. Some advice I would give my fellow 9th graders is to do their homework including myself. Another piece of advice would be to stop fooling around mainly because I've seen people just laugh and talk as the lesson would be going on. One final advice would be to stop sneaking phones out of your Yonder pouches because it's not worth getting your phone taken away and then getting scolded from your parents about it.

The Odyssey Creative Project Review - Sanaa Simmonds

The Odyssey Creative Project was the most fun project that we've had so far. Despite being very tedious and hard in my experience, it was also very rewarding. I ran into some issues involving watermarks, and the formatting part with the text was annoying. I also accidentally deleted the 4th slide so I had to rewrite the whole thing, which was frustrating. Despite these struggles, I really enjoyed decorating the slides and finding images that represented what I was writing. My favorite part was writing the story itself, and coming up with ideas of how to change the ending. I have a very big passion for creating stories, which is why I chose the prompt in the first place. If there is anything I would change about the project, I would try to give everyone premium to fix the issue of watermarks. Also if someone accidentally deletes there stuff, they can go back and fix it (You can only look at deleted stuff with premium). I was not expecting much from our ELA class at the beginning of the year, but I've realized now that ELA can be a difficult subject and requires lots of time, energy, and focus to succeed in. My 3 pieces of advice for next year 9th graders is :

Don't complete every assignment the day before or all at once, since it will be very stressful when added up with all your other classes. Manage your time, and split up work into different days so its less stressful.
Take everything from each lesson. Understanding each lesson is important to improving your speed and general skill in this class. If you don't understand something, make sure to ask the teacher to clarify, or go back and look at the slides presented that day. Also, try to memorize your Literary Devices, it will help you when writing ACEC or on exams.
Do your best. Don't just try to do the bare minimum, always go above and beyond as it will make ELA a more fun and rewarding class. By having these motivations, it will make it easier to pass, so make sure to set goals for yourself.

The process of the memoir essay project involved interviewing one person, asking questions about their memories and accomplishments. I enjoyed the project because we were given creative freedom to make our own video that matched our essay. Something I disliked about the project was its length because it took me a long time to complete it. Some changes for the project could be we could interview multiple people and write an essay about their relationship. Compared to the beginning of the year, I find ELA to be easier because in the beginning of the year it was a new concept for me and I needed to adjust to it. Advice I would give to next year 9th graders would be to practice literacy through reading because it helps you grow. Also to not feel intimidated at first because struggling will help you. Lastly, get the help you need to learn and grow like speaking up or asking questions.

In the beginning of the school year, I absolutely disliked this class to the point where I wanted to switch. The reason why I wanted to switch was because I thought this class was too much for me. I felt like it was too much homework and classwork, which made me feel "stressed". I even thought about writing an appeal to leave this class. However, the longer I stayed the more I looked forward to coming here in the morning. Ms. Amponsah is a fun person who teaches very well. She was also a fun person to bother. I found myself enjoying the classwork even better. I wasn't dreading doing the annotation assignments. I believe my viewpoint about this class changed when we all began to read 'The Odyssey'. I was a bit fond of Greek Mythology so reading the book and learning more about it caught my attention. I also believe I learned more about the methods and rhetorical devices. So I believe you shouldn't make a judgement on something when it's new to you, almost like not judging a book by its cover.

The process of the Odyssey creative project for me was hard. It was hard because I had to spend a lot of time on the design of the project and I had to get extremely creative with it. The part that was easy was writing because you could write anything that matches the rubric. I enjoyed making the cover for the project because it showed me that I could be different from everyone else and make my own cover. I also enjoyed the writing part because I was able to write with freewill. I was able to rewrite the "Odyssey" ending to show a different side of the story and create an ending that I liked more. I disliked the fact that I had to decorate every slide to get more points because it took more time to finish it. My impression of ELA now is that it's a little hard but if I do all of my homework I will be able to pass. Before I used to think that ELA was the hardest subject ever and I did not like the class. A piece of advice that I would give to the next year of 9th graders about this ELA class is to do all of their homework. Another piece of advice I would give them is to participate in the class and pay attention. The last advice I would give them is to do their classwork, and try not to miss any days because you will miss a lot of important information.

The Journey of the Odyssey projects was a stressful journey due to all the reading annotating and memorizing but turned out better then i expected. I say this because we all had fun and learned at the end of it and also the book was interesting if we didn't have to annotate so much i would have liked the book a lot more but the annotations ruined my experience of the book and my interest. I enjoyed alot to be honest i enjoyed how we all had to act out a character but i aint do so good as Odysseus but overall that was a fun project also re writing the ending was fun for me i got to be creative at times. My impression of ela is that ela is super stressful we learn about different topics like Greek or american born Chinese and we also do a lot of comparing and contrasting and tons and tons of writing which made me tell myself why is this so stressful and why am i even doing this but i end up doing it anyways im not sure about what is there to change about the projects to be honest, and advice i would give is to stay motivated focus on the task you due that week and do not procrastinate

One project that I liked was the identity college. It was easy to do and was good for the first project of Trimester 1. When making this project, I first had to think about what I liked and what I thought made me up as a person. I also had to think of a way to organize the pictures so that they look good together. What I liked about this project was that it was creative. I didn't really dislike anything about the project. I also don't think there should be any changes made to the project for next year. At the beginning of the year, I thought that ELA would be a very difficult class and it still is, but it isn't as bad as the 10th graders made it out to be. Three advises that I would give to next year's 9th graders would be to keep consistent with doing your work, don't procrastinate too much, and to be motivated enough to complete most of the assignments. Hard work leads to success.

The project I am choosing is the graphic novel where I had to design my story and implement art about a specific theme. In my graphic novel I used animals for the purpose of developing the theme of greed to show and illustrate how something that looks nice can persuade you to sin and fall short. I enjoyed putting emotion and life into the graphic novel by using animals. Also I enjoyed writing about an important theme that everybody struggles with on a daily basis. Some changes I would like to be implemented is if you could allow students to make more slides for the art so they could elaborate more on the story, as it can be hard to write a story with a few slides. My impression of ELA in the beginig of the year was that it was going to be like every other ELA class (easy) but it was much more challenging giving me much more work than I thought. Also I thought this ELA class would not require as much effort but now I realise this class takes actual effort to pass. If I could give advice to the class next year is to study because you will actually need to try to pass each class. Another piece of advice is to not get in trouble or miss too many days because you could be completly lost if you miss a few days. Lastly I would advise to get all your work done early because from personal experience saving all your work for the last minute can leave you more drained than if you did it early.

For the creative project using Canva that we did the process was satisfying as we got to be creative and show what we learned in our own ways. I enjoyed how the project showed how creative we were and it was fun while at the same time educational. I disliked how Canva limited the animations that we could do since that we couldn't make images shine or move into the slide which took away the amazement that it could have brought if it did allow that. A change that I would like to be brought to the project is that it should be graded on effort too so that people that put a lot of effort into the art and writing and showed their personalities could get extra credit. Another change is that it should be diverse allowing people to choose more options than that of which are given. A last change that could be implemented next year is that we could choose the options to work in groups but would have a little more slides depending on the amount of people so that they could distribute work and make the project less stressful and more fun even though it already was fun. At the start of the year I had the impression that ELA was going to be troublesome since we got plenty of homework. It has changed since then because I have realized that you give us more time by giving annotations ahead of time and let us work on some of it if we finish the lesson early and made class fun and efficient which helped us retain information more effectively. An advice that I would give to next year 9th graders about ELA class is to not procrastinate as it could lead to trouble on tests and lack of understanding in class if you didn't do your annotations due to procrastinating. Another advice that I would give to next year 9th graders about ELA class is to focus in class as it can help out a lot in understanding. The last piece of advice that I would give to next year 9th graders about ELA class is to start work ahead of time so that when the deadline comes around you would have less stress to finish it as you already started it and are almost done but must finish it before the deadline.

One of the first projects of Trimester 1 was the American Born Chinese Memoir. In that project, we had to write a memoir about someone that you interviewed as well as a video, which needed to follow themes of American Born Chinese. One of the things that I enjoyed about the project was editing the video. Because I had prior experience with After Effects, it was fun to experiment with a few effects. I disliked the writing part because it was the first time I wrote a memoir do it was pretty hard.

I don't think there is really anything to change about the project, it was a solid project overall. Compared to the beginning of the school year, I find Literature being the second easiest class rather than the hardest. Advice that I would give to people in the 9th grade next year is to do all your homework, never procrastinate, and build relationships with other teachers

Lizbeth Perez - The Odyssey Creative project

My experience of "The Odyssey Creative Project" process was very enjoyable. I feel this way because I like having a challenge and being able to do design something. I disliked how the Canva website copyrighted most of their images due to the fact that they had many appealing graphics. Some changes I would suggest for the project next year is maybe, just maybe, buying premium or starting a free trial so that the Canva graphics and designs won't be copyrighted. It is a pretty easy assignment so in my opinion nothing has to be changed. My impression of ELA now in comparison to the beginning of the school year differs a lot. In the beginning, I found myself not looking forward to going to class because I was unprepared and my head was somewhere else. Now I feel the opposite. I no longer lack completion for my assignments (I also get a passing grade) and my focus is now on the lesson/task at hand. A word of advice about ELA that I would the future 9th graders is to be on top of your work because one mission assignment will can lead to many more. Just don't let the work pass you by. I would also say to be prepared in class like bringing your materials and to not be afraid to ask for help if it is necessary.

The process of creating the memoir project was entertaining because I got to talk to one of my old teachers and get an insight on her life and how she grew up. Something I enjoyed about the project was connecting with my teacher more than on an educational level but a personal one. This allowed me to understand different perspectives of how people were raised and the diversity that comes with it. However, I did not like the amount of time it took out of my day to create the video and essay. Due to the amount of time it took me to complete the project I was more focused on ELA rather than my other classes homework. Moreover, changes I would like for the projects this year to have is to be more centered around creativity to give students more freedom. My impression of ELA now is different compared to the beginning of the year because at first I was very stressed out and thought it was going to be very hard, however now I would say I got used to the amount of work given. Three pieces of advice I would give to the next year freshman is to not procrastinate, be organized and study. Do not procrastinate is my first advice because I allows students to be able to focus on all their classes and get their work done in time. In addition, being organized can help you stay neat and focus on things you need to get done in the moment. Lastly, study would be my last tip because in some classes you might not understand what the teacher is presenting so you may need to obtain the concept on your own.

ABC Memoir Project Submission- Stephanie Perez

One project scholars may not think of when the topic of projects is brought to thought is the "American Born Chinese" memoir project, but personally, I feel this project is most intriguing to me because it was an opportunity to get to know the people I talk to better. The process of the first and third parts were easy to me because asking questions to my interviewee (my brother Leo) is not as hard as people make it to be, also because getting clips and pictures and putting it all into a video was fairly easy too. But doing the second part of this project was hard since I wanted to write about my brother's first real job interview and my brother did not originally give me too much to work with. I enjoyed the feeling of putting my brothers emotions and living experiences into one creative video using pictures and videos, but I disliked the point of presenting it all to the whole class since I get anxiety from it. If I had to change this project in some way for next year, I would probably make the limit for sentences on the life interview profile up to three, it would make summarizing view points for the video and narrative easier. My impression of ela now that I have experienced a lot of what it meant to put thought into what I write is substantially better than what I thought of ela in the beginning of the year, ela is not just a acronym, its a acronym for the expression of your fact knowledge or opinion by writing. A piece of advice I will give to the next year ninth graders about ela class are to never try and play around with Ms. Amponsah since she quite literally will keep her promise if she decides to remove you from class or keep you in detention. Another is don't complain as much if you feel what Ms. Amponsah is assigning is too much because the more you complain the more you limit yourself from trying and completing the work itself. Finally, do not be one of those six people that doesn't complete the annotations, it's annoying when people can't put in the time to underline and write some words with a single pen on printed text because they're out doing whatever else is unimportant to them.

My opinion on the most recent project given which was the creative project was it was stressful.I say this because it was hard to try to come up with something mind blowing because when it comes to things like this its difficult.I stayed up night without sleep to try to come up with something that would get me a good grade for the start of the trimester.What i enjoyed about the project was probably sharing it with my class,I disliked the thought process i went through when creating the project.My impression of ELA has definitely changed throughout the span of the year because at first i thought this was too much work and wanted to change to Mr.smiths class so bad,But now i realize this class is better and the work is worth the grade to be honest.The 3 main advices i would give future students is every grade counts! Do all your work no matter what,Don't be lazy do your project thouroghly.

In our Odyssey creative project, we got to express our opinion on characters, at the same time we were able to make our own narrative of how we wanted the story to end. The process was pretty difficult for me because I wasn't familiar with the editing, however it was fun making it. I enjoyed how you could start from scratch and with ease, you could make a great creation with ease. I didn't like the site we were using in general because you had to pay for certain things, but that was pretty easy to overcome. My advice for the next year is to not to lack and be lazy, try your best, and be creative.

Reflecting on Trimester 1

I think my favorite project from Trimester 1 1 was the Odyssey Creative Project. I believe that the project was an easy grade for anyone who needed extra credit. I think the process of the project was pretty testing & exacting for what needs to be added onto each slide of the project. The part I most enjoyed from experiencing this project was the time used to create every slide from scratch & customizing all of them. I really found entertainment from the Odyssey & thought that it was an interesting poem. I didn't really dislike the project because of how simple & easy it was, except for how much reading & annotating I had to do to understand the entire epic poem I. My impression of Literature now is way better compared to the beginning of the year because I started to become less lazy and stopped procrastinating on my work. Some changes I would like to implement next year is more effort and creativity.

Trimester 1 Reflection

This first trimester has taught me so much in such little time. One of the projects that I really enjoyed was the memoir. The process was not hard at all due to me enjoying it. Something I liked about the project is the fact that I can really be genuine and just the project in general I really liked. There was really nothing that I disliked about the project. It really pushed me to be creative in my writing and I have found a new interest in writing through this. One major change I would like to make for the project being implemented next year is staying consistent and not waiting till the last minute to complete everything. In the beginning of the year I thought this class was going to be the biggest struggle and I did not like this class very much until getting to know Ms. Amponsah and the more I stayed in class more. I began to enjoy the class because we always have a good time and I feel like I am always pushed in this class which is something I need. I love this class now. Three pieces of advice I would give to the upcoming ninth graders is to always stay consistent in doing your work, always have a shoulder to lean on because it may get hard at times, and have fun in this class because when you have fun you start to enjoy the class and then enjoy the work. This class has taught me so much especially about myself. I am completely grateful for this class.

The project i choose to talk about is the memoir project. The process for this project started off difficult as I did not know who to interview. This process was very difficult because I had very limited time to find a person to question and everyone was busy, as i had poor time management. Overall, I really enjoyed doing the memoir project even though it was difficult because I was able to learn more about the person that I interviewed. Interviewing my great grandma made me get a glimpse of her life as an outsiders point of view. Some changes that I would add to the project for next year is to make the requirements for the length of the essay longer. At the start of the year, my impression of ELA was that it would be very hard because a lot of teachers in Middle school had said High school was much harder to pass. As time went on, I found high school to be way easier than i thought as a whole. One piece of advice that I would give to upcoming 9th graders is to manage your time. Time management is really key to doing good throughout the school year. From experience, doing assignments at the last minute caused me to be very sleep deprived and stressed out. Another piece of advice I would give to upcoming 9th graders is to do your annotation packets. Even if you had a homework pass, I advice to still annotate the packet because that specific text will be used for many different assignments, so if you don't read them you will be confused. My last piece of advice to upcoming 9th graders is to ask questions. Asking questions and emailing your teachers is very beneficial when it comes to test such as midterms, finals, etc.

For the project that we recently completed, it wasn't a hard project at all, we had all the resources we need to complete the project. For the most part, the process of the project was not hard at all it was a opportunity to show off your creativity and express your feeling towards The Odyssey. Something I enjoyed about the project was being able to express how I felt while we were reading the Odyssey and getting to share my opinions to my peers. Something I disliked was my project because i do believe that it was a bit dry and needed more creativity. Some changes are to just take my time and to just be more creative because I believe that I can go above and beyond and I know that I can think outside the box but my project wasn't something I was confident in. My impression on Ela now then in the beginning is that I actually love Ela now then before, before I use to struggle and not ask for help because I was so worried about other peoples would think if I kept asking questions, but now I realized that, I don't have to worry about nobody's opinion because being quiet and not asking for help can affect me. Some advice I would give to the next year 9th grade class is that do your best to speak up in class, ask questions and take time to build relationships with your teachers. Another piece of advice I would give is that develop confidence in yourself and don't worry about what other people think and surround yourself with people that can help you in Ela because although Ela may be challenging, you would want to surround yourself with people that you can benefit from. Lastly piece of advice I'll give is that cheating in class doesn't help you because when you cheat, the work just gets harder for you especially during a test. Also, don't stress over the smallest things even though you would get challenging work, just get it done no matter the amount because the work affects your grades.

The Process of this project was simple and not hard to complete. This project helped me to explore my creative side and show me how to turn my creativity into something more. I enjoyed how fun this project was compared to other projects from this school year so far. It made me think more deeply into the Epic Poem so that I could understand what they're feeling to express that in my project. I don't have any dislikes about this project because I enjoyed it. My impression on ELA has changed drastically from how it was in the start of the school year to now. In the start of the school year i expected that it would be slightly difficult but if i did my work i would be fine. I still do think that but now i realized that for this class you really have to put your best effort in, you can't slack off or you will fall behind quickly. The workload might be a lot but it keeps me on top of my school and making sure to not fall behind. 3 pieces of advice i would give upcoming 9th graders is to 1, Do not fall behind, this is because when you fall behind its gonna be harder to get back up and do good in the class. 2 would be to try your best even if you don't feel like doing it or don't understand the material It's important to not give up and keep trying your best. Lastly i would say to ask questions when you don't understand, if you don't ask questions you will not understand the work and wen to have to do projects and test you will be lost and will regret not asking any questions, you have to remember the teacher is there to help you and teach you if you don't understand so i would say to ask questions to make sure you're understanding the material the teacher is giving you.

The project I liked so far out of all the project was the memoir project .The process of the project for me was really interesting i got to know more about my aunt and things i never imaged to talk to her or ask and I also got to know more about my culture. It seem like i was making a YouTube film and interviewing people is really interesting when you have a sit down talk just them talking about themselves it was always having small conversation but not actually sitting talking all about them and it show the reason why she acts the way she acts and makes me view her different .I enjoyed seeing her background photos of her when she was younger I liked the music she played of what her mom sing it was fun getting to know a famous singer in Africa daughter she gave me a lesson i saw her kids and husband it showed her other side i never seen and i also enjoyed making a video and editing and also putting her mother's song in the background it gave me prepsective on how people edit in YouTube videos .A project i dislike was the Odyssey introduction paragraph it was a lot i got a little enjoyment I felt like i could've did better i was rushing a lot to put things all to gather it was a lot of paragraph and it gave a point of view of writing publisher but i got to threw it and would like it to more better than the last i felt like i didn't put a lot of effort,I was getting tried of talking about Odyssey and some story's from the past . I would like the project next year to show our creative side and bring out our inner personality to show us in the project not just being all about the book and i want the project to have a little fun so it can brings up more joy .When i had ELA period 7-8 i was bored out didn't like i didn't participate a lot i didn't like the class very well but when my schedule was changed to period 1-2 i liked it it was more joy because it was my first period it gave good mood and it brought out my funny side of me i wanted to learn more all the time it was two different Ms. Amponsah in those classes it made me have confront with her she understands me which inspire me to do my work all the assignment i may have miss some . 3 advice i would give to the next 9th grader do your work do all your homework if you fail your quiz or test your homework will help you bring up it is the key in passing your quiz.Everybody changed in high school be wise with the friends you choose choose the friends that will help you in life if someone doesn't like your personality leave them don't change who you are for anyone.If you don't understand your teacher watch YouTube or go over someone else that understands it better mange your time well schedule everything out

In ELA the project that got my attention was the Memoir Project. The process of the project was very interesting because I got to know my sister more. It wasn't easy to get my sister to do the project with me because she is always busy. One thing that I enjoyed about the project was that we were spending time together. The part that I did not like was when she gets busy and has to leave me for a second or a few minutes. Some changes that I would like to change are the questions that I interviewed her with. Another change that I would do is fix the way my Memoir essay is. In the beginning of the year I was thinking that ELA was going to be hard because of the homework that we were getting, but now i'm understanding ELA much better than in the beginning of the year. The advice that I would give to the next year 9th graders is do your homework and keep your grades good especially if you do sports. Another piece of advice that I would give them is to stay out of trouble.

The Identity Collage was my favorite and funniest project to do . Personally , I like to take a lot of pictures so when the project was given to me I understood the assignment . I didn't dislike anything about the project , 10/10 I'll do it again . In the beginning of the school year , I hated ELA. Ms. Amponsah gave us like 3 projects the first day , but I was thinking to myself , " I can't just not do it ." I was stressed about the amount of work I was given . I was used to writing short response answers , now I had to learn a new method of writing. Now , I'm used to the amount of work I get and I get it done . Three advice I'll give to the next year freshmans are :

Do your work . Overtime it,ll get easier .
Don't get Ms. Amponsah angry .
Pay attention to everything that is being taught .

ABC Memoir Project Submission- Camilla Soto

The ABC Memoir Project was about writing about someone I genuinely want to get to know better. I'm picking this project because it allowed me to get a better feeling about my friends. The process of the project was alright. For me the questions were difficult because oftentimes my person would not answer leaving me to procrastinate my project farther. The second part and third part which was writing a narrative essay and the video allowed me to be creative in writing the perspective of my person making this portion of the project easier. I enjoyed making the video even though it took me the longest because I liked playing around to make my video great. I disliked the interview because there wasn't much information to work with. Changes I would like to be implemented in the project next year are increasing the word count for more creativity. My impression of ELA is different from the beginning because I thought ELA class would be as boring as last year when we would read the same section of a paragraph every single day but I love ELA class now I've learned much more which has allowed me to improve my writing. Advice I would give to the next year 9th graders is to not procrastinate your annotations because even if it might be easy it takes a lot of time if you do it correctly, pay attention in class because the quizzes might be on the lesson and not always on the book being read, lastly is try your best because even though sometimes the work might be overwhelming the outcome is always worth it liking getting an 100 or food.

Trimester 1 Reflection - ABC Memoir Project

For my Trimester 1 Reflection I chose to write a review on my ABC Memoir Project. The process of this project was okay but stressful at times. This was due to the amount of time it took to create the video and all the words that I had misspelled in it. During the project I enjoyed getting to know my dad and his history better. I disliked that I rushed when creating the video due to forgetting the due date of the video. Some changes I would like to make for the project to be implemented next year are to add other options other than a video such as a slide show or canva, etc. I would also like there to be a larger amount of questions that the interviewer could ask. My impression of ELA now is much better compared to the beginning of the year. At first all the work scared me and I thought it would be very challenging. Now I manage and completing the work comes easy. There are still times when it is hard but it has become better. 3 pieces of advice I would give to the 9th grade next year is to persevere through all work, try your hardest and to pay attention in class.

Narrative Essay Project

A project that I enjoyed in Literature class was the narrative essay project. I felt fully immersed in what I was writing especially because I related so much to it. The process of the project fully had me thinking about certain morals I kept myself high to and certain feelings that I chose to keep deep inside of me. Writing made me pour everything out and to this day I think back to it and how I felt during those times. Something I enjoyed about the project was when I sat down and already knew what I wanted to write like I just had a light switch turned on. Something I disliked about the project was that since it was my first actual essay I had no idea how to put the page numbers and indent (I still don't know how to indent🥲). Some changes I would personally make to the project so it can be implemented next year is to allow the scholars to first write some ideas for the essay and you can approve it so you know that the scholars actually tried rather than copy and pasting from websites. My impression of ELA at the beginning of the year was that it was light work, I felt determined and knew that I was going to do fine in the class however now I just want to quit the class😃. I don't know how to even explain it but all that positive energy is burnt out and I'm ready for the school year to be over. But I feel like I can power through. Three pieces of advice I'd give to the next year 9th graders is to be early on your work, even if you feel compelled to procrastinate... don't. Always proofread your essays, you never know if you've made a grammatical error until you check it. Lastly in this class really express the creative side of you because I promise that is what's going to make the class even more fun, when you try.

Creative Project and T1 Reflection

I felt that the creative project wasn't difficult. The process was quite simple. First I choose that I would characterize 4 characters and then I had to look for a template. However I was indecisive and ended up decorated my project myself. I wrote my opinions of the characters then I screenshot images of characters from a pdf of the book. Although I was nervous to stand in front of the class to present I was pleasantly surprised by the unexpected positive responses I got from my classmates.

At first ELA was unbearable. English was never my greatest subject but high school English was more of a challenge than I was ever forced to face before but I never gave up. I went to tutoring and kept trying. I'm still not the strongest writer and have trouble understanding texts from time to time but I have improved so much since the beginning of the year.Three pieces of advice I would give to next years 9th graders for English class is to keep track of due dates, ask questions and have a positive attitude.

T1 Project Reflection (memoir project)

The process of the memoir project was somewhat easy, I had to get images of my friend and put them into an editor. I decided to put a picture of her and then a picture of her when she was little and she progressively got older and older. What I enjoyed about the project was making a video because I have never done something like this. This is different from the usual writing project you get in ELA and I enjoyed it. Some changes I would enjoy implementing next year is mandatory feedback from the teacher to fix any mistakes. I feel like the feedback will allow us to improve on our work especially if you make us write it down to improve on it at home. My impression of ELA is that it is fun and if you do your work you'll get good grades, and that in reality we don't get a lot of work we're just lazy. I used to think that we got a lot of work because I wasn't used to all the work we got but in reality it isn't that much. Three pieces of advice I would give to a ninth grader next year are:

1. Do the work, not going on TikTok for one day is better than failing a class and having tutoring.

2. Don't try take advantage of Ms. Amponsah's kindness, Ms. Amponsah might be kind but she doesn't joke when it comes to work, so don't even try it.

3. Improve on your work whenever you can, If you get told that you did really good but you got one or two things you need to fix, fix them. Every point counts in her class.

The most recent project was an easy good grade I like how people were able to speak of how they feel about the character they are talking about. The process of the project was nice and easy. The only thing I was confused about was turning the project into a PDF. What I enjoyed about the project was being able to use my creativity and express. Of how I feel about the characters I was talking about. Some changes I would have liked for the project to be implemented next year. I should have had some of the open spaces filled up with like pictures. My impression of ELA now compared to the past was that. In the past I thought that ELA was so hard that there was too much work. But know I noticed that I was just lazy. I also had to actually pay attention in class and ask questions about the work. Three advices I would that I will give to next year's class is that to always ask questions about something you are confused about. don't fool around because you will definitely miss something important lastly you must always do your work.

The creative project was a way to let students express themselves in a way to show their understanding of the book "The Odyssey".The process for this project for me was a bit frustrating because being creative wasn't easy since you have to think a lot and be original. Not only that but you also have to follow the expectations that were expected which was even more difficult.Overall i would say i enjoyed this project and actually did make me happy since i saw how creative i was able to be which showed how hard i worked.Somethings i did dislike about this project was overthinking the whole time.I say this because it was hard to think about what to do when a topic it given and constantly overthinking if its good enough made it harder.Changes i wish i made was actually being more creative and original.The reason I say that is because i used templates so I wasn't so original but was still somewhat creative. So for the next project i would show more of that for the next upcoming projects. My impression of ELA now is more challenging since we have to read harder books and be able to understand it.Advice I would give to upcoming 9th graders is to pay attention.I say this because if you don't pay attention you can get lost fast and not understand nothing.Something else is taking lots of notes.Notes help you understand and help you come back to things you didn't understand, which would for sure help you.Last advice i would give is to speak up and communicate with teachers so that they know what you're struggling with and could help you.

The project i enjoyed the most was the graphic novel because it was interesting to see how Odysseus went through his voyage and how he got through it. So it was interesting to show a theme for the odyssey loyalty and greediness. I enjoyed making a story because i made a story of something i relate to when it came to loyalty. The project was very easy for me since it was fun. I really didn't dislike this project because it helped me express my feelings on a story that happened to me on loyalty.My opinion on ELA is way much better because i could write a paragraph with evidence way more better and my writing with words. One thing i disliked though was the due date was too fast. The three advice i would give to the 9th graders next year is to do your work ahead of time and don't wait, Do all your projects. And enjoy ELA because it's fun when you do your work ahead of time and procrastinate.

As the year progresses everything has gotten smoother. At the beginning of the year I thought that dropping out wouldn't be a bad idea but now I've realized that Ms. Amponsah has been the best teacher and is helping us learn things beyond school. The project that made me realize Ms. Amponsah made learning fun was the Interview project because even though it was one of the most complicated it was still a fun experience. The process was easy but then I realized that I had to find a way to interview someone and get pictures of them that present them as a whole. I enjoyed to learn more about my person and express their personality to the class. I disliked the amount of work that we had to get done considering the fact that we needed to extend on what the person said. Sometimes the person would talk vaguely and we would have to make 5 sentences from that. Some changes from the upcoming project is to ask students if they would like to do a group or even a class project. My impression of ELA now is so much better. I actually enjoy ELA prefer it over every other classes even though usually ELA was my least favorite subject. My advice to next years 9th grade is to be attentive, actively participate and look at the bright side in everything because you will end up enjoying this classroom more than you expect.

In my opinion, the story board project was my favorite of them all. What we did was we had to create a 9 frame comic strip based on the themes on either greed or loyalty. This project gave us a lot of freedom with what we wanted to do. Although we only had 2 themes to go with, we could still make a lot of stories with these themes. This project does not have any downsides from me it was that good. Something could be done for the prjects is to give them a sense of creativity to give the scholars some freedom(Not like you don't do that already). When I first go to literature on the first day, I thought it was just going to be another boring ELA class. And even though it has some boring parts I will admit, Ms. Amponsah still tries to make it fun as possible making it enjoyable to learn and do projects. If I were to talk to 8th graders, heres what I will tell them. They have to do their annotations, not only is it helpful, but it also is pratically needed to pass the school year. I would also tell them to enjoy ELA in the 8th grade, it just gets worse.

The Odyssey Creative Project

The process of the Odyssey Creative Project was actually pretty fun. In this project I enjoyed putting my opinion out there. Like with Telemachus I really respected his character and by far he was the best out of all that I characterized. Something I disliked about this project was how hard it was sometimes to think of words to describe the characters. Some of the characters I really wanted to use like Polyphemus but I felt like he was just an overrated character and many people would have used him. Some changes I would make to this project is that next time there should be a number of people who do certain topics because there was a lot of people who did the characterization topic and over time it really got boring. My impression of ELA class at the beginning of the year was that it was just hard. Like there were times where I didn't do my homework because of how long and tiring it was. But now homework and other projects and assignments are getting a little easier to do even though the stress is still there. 3 advices I'd give to the next 9th graders is to do your work quickly. Really pay attention in class or else you'll get lost. Lastly you have to make the effort to actually pass the class.

One of my favriote projects I did in ELA was the memior project. I liked it because the process was really simple and it helped me better connect to my peers on a deeper level. I enjoyed that it was easy and that it meant i could talk to my friend more in class because i wrote about her and i needed to ask her the questions. The only thing i disliked about the project was that i wish it could of been about the person writting it not someone else because i feel like that would of connected the person to the class and we could have saw the reason why we are the way we are. I don´t think any changes need to be implemented on the projects next year they are preety easy and chill and you have a long due date so you got enough time to do what you have to do and the project you were given. My impression of ELA now then what it was in the beggining is that it is very easy you just need to ask for help if you need help and just get your work done on time. Also that it's not as difficult as people take it too be some people are just being lazy. I can also see how this will prepare us for collage in someways because no matter if you want to do it or not if you dont do it or dont put no effort into it you just failed yourself. 3 advices i will give too the upcoming 9th graders are do not procasanate. If you need help just ask nobody is gonna scream at you and lastly make sure you do your homeworks and classwork because those are easy grades you can get put in to bring up your grade.

ABC Memoir - Diamond Gregory

The process of the ABC memoir project was very easy,creative, and interesting. I enjoyed that I was able to write about someone I know life and that I was able to learn more about her childhood and lifestyle growing up.However the part I didn't like about it was that we had to ask a little bit of questions.Some changes that could be changed with this project however is that we shouldn't just have to talk about one moment it should be where we talked about a moment that could've led up to the next moment.When I first came into this school year especially this class I was like wow its gonna be mad work. Because you know I was being consistent at first with my work but towards the middle that's when I became lazy with my time management.But then later on towards the end of the marking period with me actually wanting to do my work I realized that this class actually wasn't hard and challenging it was just me being lazy on time management and believing that the work was hard when it really wasn't. So overtime this class slowly became my favorite class and easy. 3 advice I would give to the upcoming 9th graders is to 1 definitely have time management, 2 be prepared to get into the zone of being able to focus on a long chapter based book, and 3 never say that work is too hard and always believe you can do it .

Expose to my The Odyssey Creative Project, in my opinion it was the best project I did so far in Ms.Amponsah literature class since it was entertaining. This is because we had to add our own creativity as a part of your grade, i love adding my own opinion and ideas on things so this project was very enjoyable for me. I disliked the watermark problem that was showing in every slide due to this i had to buy Canva premium.., Some changes that i would like to be done is maybe not do it on Canva, instead Docs where scholars are more familiar with. In the beginning of the year, i started in Mr.Smith class but was very impacted when i got changed to your class since some of my friends where talking about how much work we had to keep up with, however my opinion completed changed this couple of months since i realized that the more work i was doing the more it impacted my learning skills. Some advice i would give to up coming 9th graders is to not progastinate your time since it could lead to you getting a bad grade but also stress since your doing so work so last minute. Another piece of advice it would be to try and come to school every single day if possible. Not coming to class or skipping can cause you to be confused in your work which could lead to negative outcomes. Lastly, is to not be afraid to share your thoughts to the class, if you need a clarification ask your teacher or peer.

One project I liked doing was the creative project. It was fun to do and had me thinking about many ideas to do. It showed me I could be more creative than I thought. The process was fun and enlightening. I enjoyed making my idea come to life and creating my thoughts. I disliked my time management with the project. I have no changes for the project because the project was creative and fun while forcing me to use my brain. My impression of ELA now compared to before is that ELA is not challenging at all I just have to memorize a lot of things and pay attention to every detail in the class. Advice for next year 9th graders is to pay attention and actually go over notes you take in class. Going over notes will help with memorizing what you learned. But overall paying attention is key to succeeding in ELA.

A project I really liked and enjoyed was the online comic book. I really liked because it was something easy to do, didn’t take much time, and I put in good effort, and in the end I got a good grade. The process of the project was going to a website that creates a layout of a comic book, includes bubbles, characters, settings etc. We was able to complete majority of the project in class since we had time which made the project even easier. The project was pretty much good to whereI dont have any dislikes about the project. Changes to the project that can implemented this year is just add more detail. I didn’t lack on detail but I could’ve done a bit more. I currently think ELA is easy and light if you stay on top of your work. It’s also a easy class to pass if you pay attention, but before in the beginning of the school year i thought ELA was going to be hard because its high-school and a lot of work was going to be given but from what i experienced in trimester 1 that differs. 3 important advice I would give to upcoming 9th graders for ELA is just pay attention, stay organize, and lastly do your homework. A lot of information is gonna be given that you would need so its important to catch on, staying organize will help you like knowing where certain stuff is and lastly homework plays a huge part of your grade so its important to do it and you’ll also be behind in class if you dont.

Odyssey Argumentative Essay

This was my favorite project that we have done. It helped me enjoy the idea of writing in a perspective to disagree on something and give reasons and statements on it. The process for it was very simple for me because I prepared for it properly. I did everything ahead of time instead of last minute. I enjoyed getting feedback from others on my writing and how they felt about what I should change. I disliked that it did take very long to do, especially when we had to correct our work multiple times. I have no changes for this project, it challenges our mindset to think differently. My impression of ELA now is way different now. Even though we get a very good amount of work, it's for the better and challenges us for what we will expect in the future. 3 advice's I would give for future 9th graders is to stay on top of you're work, participate, and don't be behind.
