In this part of the text among plenty of others, there is a clear neglect of the prisoners right to adequate sanitization, water, clothing, and medical care. The prisoners were no longer given bread or water, using snow to take the place of both. Their bodies were packed together with no where else to go at any time of need displaying the neglect towards proper sanitization. This took place during the winter, hence the snow, and the prisoners were not given proper clothing to keep warm which is why Wiesel described himself and the others on his train car as "frozen bodies".
