He introduced the Neorealist movement to the nation as a member of the notorious artistic group Thirteen Moderns. Over the course of his work, he steadily moved away from traditional human figure portrayals and toward a more Modernist visual vocabulary. 
He was recognized as a National Artist in painting in 1990. The National Museum of the Philippines in Manila is home to some of his most well-known pieces.

Gomez's contribution would be for the aspiring artist given that his "notorious" work of yellow painting: encompasses a deeper thought when it comes to lust, self-pleasure, and power. It inspires in a way that aspiring artist should primarily recognize their worth and dispose of being susceptible to other baseless criticism.
2.Why is their art form important?
As mentioned by the artist: it indicates self-definition and self driven motivation for them to craft their work, so I couldn't define well the importance aside from its perceived collectible value.
3.Would you consider your favorite artist as one of the National Artist in the Philippines? Explain your answer.
No, I don't consider him as worthy as I think he still lacks in other parts. At the same time, his work's value may have exceeded everyone's expectations, but given his position in the other field, it is understandable. Also, it's his early work which will naturally garner a lot of value.
