Communication Badge

Evidence 1- About me PowerPoint (task). At the beginning of the academic year I completed an about me presentation to my peers. This developed my communication as I was speaking to group of people I didn't know and I told them about my hobbies, my lifestyle and my goals (explanation). My presentation was well presented as I faced the class as I read it out (what went well). If I was to do it again I would add more images to make it seem more interesting (what I would improve).

Evidence 2- Enrolment (task). I came in to have a chat with a member of the public services, during the chat, they asked about my grades, my skills, my knowledge and why I wanted to join this course. This developed my communication skills as it prepared me to talk to the tutors and it made me feel more welcomed around the other students enrolling (explanation). Enrolment went well as I spoke fluently and felt comfortable within the conversation (what went well). If I was to do it again I would speak about more topics such as what I want to do in the future and I would have made the conversations last longer (what I would improve).

Evidence 3- Work (task). A few months back I started working part time at a local pub collecting glasses, cleaning them and working on the tills. This developed my communication skills as it allowed me to talk to more people, when I was glass collecting I picked a glass up but they weren't finished with it so every time I went back we all laughed about it and made it an ongoing joke and they all picked their glasses up and we all laughed (explanation). When I go round glass collecting or when I am on the tills, I am polite and like to make them feel welcome and comfortable (what is good). Sometimes, when on the tills, people can't hear me so I have to speak louder (what I would improve).

Teamwork Badge

Evidence 1- Kelly's teamwork exercise (task). In the physical prep lesson, me and my partner planned an activity which we presented to the class and they then took part with the activity. This developed my knowledge on teamwork as it gave me experience working with others as we shared our opinions and came up with a resolution what to do (explanation). This went well as we worked together and took notice of each others opinions (what went well). To improve this we could have improved our opinions and made the activity more challenging (what I would improve).

Evidence 2- Group Fitness (task). In the group fitness task, me and my group came up with a load of exercises which the rest of the class have to perform. This developed my knowledge on teamwork as I realised working with a group helps me to develop my knowledge on others ideas and they also develop on mine, doing this helped to improve my confidence as I spoke to others and worked with them to ensure our fitness activities were appropriate (explanation). This went well as we showed each other where we need to improve in working with a team and where our strong points of working in a team were (what went well). To improve this we could have communicated more which was another way we could have developed our activities and the difficulty of them (what I would improve).

Evidence 3- Work (example of teamwork). At the place I work at it is essential we work in a team to be sure we are understanding what needs doing and what doesn't need doing. For example, while someone is on the till, there will be someone collecting glasses, someone pulling the drinks and someone stocking the fridges. Teamwork is used here as we all decide as a team who is doing what job or if someone needs help we ask one of the team members and then we complete the job as a team which sometimes makes it quicker and more efficient (explanation). This works well as we all understand what we are suppose to do (what works well). To improve the teamwork here we could have more than one person on each job so we don't have to distract others to help us do it, this would make it more reliable with 2 people doing the activity (what I would improve).

Motivation Badge

Evidence 1- Fire Cadets (motivation example). In fire cadets I get motivation from the people around me as when we do an activity together, we motivate each other and give each other the courage to take part. This is an example for motivation because we find motivation from the activities and each other to turn up to fire cadets each week and take part (explanation). This works well as we experience new activities whilst also having fun and developing our knowledge on information we could use in the future (what went well). To improve this, I would make cadets more often. For example, I would maybe make it 2 times a week instead of one (what I would improve).

Evidence 2- College & Work (motivation example). In work and college, I get my motivation from me knowing the knowledge of how it will benefit me in the future. Knowing this motivates me to achieve my full potential and to put all my effort and attention into what I am aiming to accomplish (explanation). This is good as it motivates me to try my hardest in any situation and get the best outcome possible, this will also help within my future as it will be beneficial on my CV and on my personal statement (what works well). To improve on my motivation within college and work I should revise in my spare time for upcoming exams and assignments and in the work industry I should do overtime which will allow me to save more money for university (what I would improve).

Evidence 3- Family & Friends (motivation example). My family and friends motivate me to try my best and to not give up whatever the result. Whenever I achieve or fail something my family and friends stimulate me to try again and always continue the best achievements possible despite anything making the challenges more difficult (explanation). This is good as it helps motivate me to try my best at everything I do and it encourages me to always improve on what I attempt (what works well). In my opinion, I think it could work better as my family and friends may not know my full potential or they may convince me I have done enough meaning it will effect how I do things (what could be improved).

Reliability Badge

Evidence 1- Work (reliability example). Working means to be reliable, always be at work on time, always do as i'm suppose to and to always help customers wherever I can. I have to be reliable for work as they expect me to help others and to always follow rules no matter the situation. They also rely on me show on time and to commit fully to work (explanation). Being reliable for work is good as work ensures me that I will always be secure and have a job which is beneficial for me in the future (what went well). To be more reliable in this situation, I could do more overtime at work to show them that I am a reliable worker (what I would improve).

Evidence 2- College (reliability example). To be reliable at college means to show up on time, complete all assignments sent and submit them on time and to contribute in all lessons. Doing this makes me reliable and consistent and I am able to be trusted to always do as told (explanation). Being reliable at college is good as it will help me get where I want to be in the future, for example it will be an advantage for me on my personal statement which will hopefully get me into university (what works well). However, to be more reliable at college I could study and revise more outside of college meaning I will be more knowledgeable on the subjects I contribute in within college (what could be improved).

Evidence 3- Fire Cadets (reliability example). Being reliable at fire cadets is important because it builds trust for the firefighters that made the cadets possible that I will show up on time and complete all the work set. Doing this also gives them reassurance that I am reliable and am able to do as asked (explanation). Being reliable at fire cadets is good as it prepares me for real jobs in the future (what goes well). However, to be more reliable I could offer more support such as volunteering to be an instructor (what could be better).

Evidence 1- Shopping (sustainability example). When I go food shopping with my family, we use reusable bags to reduce the amount of plastic we use throughout the year (explanation). Doing this throughout the year saves money as well as plastic wasted (what works well). To improve this we could reduce the amount of waste we have (what could be improved).

Evidence 2- College environmental tutorial (sustainability example). This is beneficial as it allows me to set targets to improve my actions in the environment (explanation). Also doing this lets me improve everyone else's knowledge on the environment (what works well). To improve on this we could take part in activities that show the importance of the environment (what could be better).

Evidence 3- Teams and technology (sustainability example). Using online sources allows me to stop using paper which is also seen as saving the environment (explanation). Doing this saves me from wasting paper (what works well). However in some circumstances paper is essential (what could be improved).

Evidence 1- Charity walk (social responsibility example) A few years back I attended a walk with occurred in Cudworth to raise money towards a charity which helped them gather more information and knowledge which helped them learn more about it and get equipment needed to research it (explanation). This would have helped save many lives and give them plenty more days of living (what went well). To improve this we could have had multiple events happening to improve the amount of money raised (what could be improved).

Evidence 2- Community pickup (social responsibility example). When attending fire cadets, every Saturday for weeks, we would go out into a community that was not in the best form and we would pick up litter or we helped do other garden type activities (explanation). Doing this and helping on the farms was good as it was less work for them and when we did litter picking we were protecting the environment and their habitats (what went well). To improve this we could have completed more hours on the Saturdays to get more work done (what could be improved).

Evidence 3- Charity event (social responsibility example). This including me and everyone in the course creating our own charity activity to raise money for the children in need charity (explanation). This was good as because there was a load of different activities it created more variation and there was always something for someone to do (what went well). To improve this we could have done it for a few days of the week rather than one so students that weren't in that day had a chance to be apart of the events (what could be improved).

Evidence 1- Positive relationships (Example of resilience). Being in college has allowed me to gain confidence in myself which has helped me befriend the students in my course (explanation). By gaining these friends from college I get out more often allowing myself to socialise more and experience new activities with different people (what works well). However, to improve on this I could also do the same with work colleagues to get the same positive relationships as I do at college (what could be better).

Evidence 2- Self Awareness (example of resilience).
