Yes! I would recommend it to a friend because it a great book and I talk about a little boy who's parents got a divorce and he when to see his dad.

The saddest part of the book was when Brian tried to kill himself. It was the saddest part because he's only little and he has a lot to live for. The choices that made me understand this is that when the plane flew by and left him he was very upset.

The funniest part of the book was at the end when a pilot had come for Brian and he said to him " would you like something to eat". And brain didn't know the pilot was there for him.

The end of hatchet was kind of happy but sad at the same time. It was a happy ending because he had Been rescued from being in the wood for 54 days. It was sad because the pilot told Brian his parents had stopped looking for him 2 months ago. Now that probably has Brian thinking, " why would my own

I liked the ending because he was saved. My reactions were I felt happy for him. The live pilot had gotten his signal and saved him.
