Physically: Knowing yourself physically is one of the most basic parts of knowing ourselves. You see your own body everyday when you look down or up into the mirror. You know your body better than anyone else and you are able to create an idea of yourself physically through your experience with it. Our views of our physical appearance may be biased as we may see ourselves as “better” or “worse” than the ways other people see us. But still, no one can really understand how you really are physically more than yourself. For example, when I was younger, I used to have a small mole in my back that no one else knew about. I was one of the only people who knew about it due to that it made me feel uncomfortable. This shows how even though people know me physically, they are unaware of some aspects of myself that only I am aware of.

Spiritually: Knowing yourself spiritually accounts to your inner self, personality, and feelings. In this case, there is no one who is better aware of this unlike yourself. In my case, there are many aspects people are unaware of and even though they may think they know about my spiritual self, I know myself even better. Even though people know their own feelings, it is hard to really know the small details that fall behind personalities and feelings. There may be days when you feel sad with no major reason and you can’t really understand yourself. Therefore, even though we may think we know ourselves spiritually, there is a certain point in which no one can really know the deepest parts of ourselves.
