Poetry is a form of writing that is expressive. People use poetry to express themselves in various ways. Some people write in verse while others use rhyme or rhythm. People write poetry for pleasure or for emotional closure. People have been writing poetry for a long time. Often poets have really hard lives and express themselves and their struggles through poems. Anyone can write poetry though some are more famous. Some people use poetry to tell stories, others considered it a flow of emotion. It can be in the form of music, or in the written (more commonly known form). Poetry can be written in many ways. For instance, it can be written in the form of a haiku (a Japanese form of poetry containing a line of 5 syllables, 7 syllables and then 5 syllables,) or in verse, or many other ways.
