Ryan had a gentle way of handling students who may not have been focused due to computer use. He quietly addressed the student by closing their computer without embarrassing the student or drawing attention that issue. Also, Ryan encouraged participation with a great deal of positive reinforcement. This class had a warm an open atmosphere where participation was encouraged, and students felt like taking a risk by volunteering was a safe place to be. Getting students to all participate is difficult , and Ryan was very successful at this task.
