Now Ryder didn't know that she was talking to him. You see Ryder is Deaf. He became Deaf at 19 years old. It was soccer season for him when he came down with a nasty fever, ear infection, and horrible headache. He had meningitis. He didn't recover well, It led him to become Deaf. This was a struggle for Ryder. He quit soccer and didn't complete his dream of becoming a professional soccer player. He wasn't himself after he kept himself away from everything. It caused him pain to go into loud areas.

The way Ryder communicated way via text. He could lips read too. He knew some signs. The end of the book is when he can fully sign. he wears hearing aids for both ears. But the problem with his hearing aids is that left one he really couldn't hear out of it as it was. The hearing aid would screech or "scream if there were even little noises." He could hear out of his right ear. In the book, he says it is, "his good ear." Ryder withdrew himself from the world. It was making him lonely.

Now here's the kicker. The professor the two of them shared was Ryder's brother-in-law Aiden. He could tell that there was something between them. He decided to push them together by making them partners in a big project. This leads Willa to realize why he didn't answer.

Ryder is still deaf. He decides to upgrade his hearing aids to the newest tech. so he can hear better. Willa's mom helps him realize he can still talk. He does and this makes him super emotional

I thought this book was excellent. It showed Ryder's point of view of the Deaf. He even talked about how his family tries to make him feel like his not deaf

• Where is the Love by The Black Eyed Peas: I watched her sign the new Where is the Love song. I loved how her facial expression in the beginning was somber. You could feel the emotions radiating off of her signs.

• Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash: Okay my opinion on this. I think this song was pretty good. It's a very straightforward song. I feel like it's a straightforward song to learn

• You Need Me, I Don't Need You by Ed Sheeran: I liked this. I found it was cool actually. Ed Sheeran had his main video translated. The person signing also was right on the beat.
