Utilized for Turning Montréal into a Blue Zone project poster with a Sec 5 ESL class.

Students were instructed to make a digital poster using Canva to develop and represent their ideas on how Montréal can become a blue zone. Students watched documentaries mentioning how the people of Okinawa in Japan possess a great sense of Ikigai in order to get a clue on how they can form meaningful and realistic ideas on how Montréal can be transformed. Students presented their poster in front of the class and told the other students their ideas in a 1-2 minute speech.

Ikigai: a Japanese concept of discovering your purpose through exploring in collaboration what you love, what you're good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for.

Blue Zone: an area that civilians live until 100 years old on average

Utilized for voting activity in Sec 1 ESL classroom. My CT went over how to do this activity as a class and then gave students 20 minutes to complete it individually to see who their views best align with for this years's Canada Election. This was resourceful information for their mock voting simulation the following class where students were to go in the hallway privately, vote for who they want to become president, and the votes would be tallied by the teacher, finding who the class would elect for the next Canadian president.
