Malagasy people plant trees as a natural protection against floods, cyclones and storms. Yet, for a long time, the population has been burning these trees to develop land for their agriculture: this is slash-and-burn farming. So today, they are reversing this technique and planting trees.

A man traveled Scotland during a trip by bike. He already traveled Iceland by bike. He rode 500 miles in six months. He traveled with one backpack. There was lot of things in this backpack like clothes, sleeping bag and foods. He don’t used always his bike, sometimes he took train and sometimes he slept in hotels, like that he canned take shower.

He started his trip on Edinburgh where he took a plane to go in Inverness trains station. He took a train to go in Beauly Holiday Park.

He slept in an hotel. He ate very delicious potatoes and drank a whisky cream.

He visited lot of places. He visited Muir of Ord with Glen Ord distillery where he canned taste some whisky. He visited Apple Cross Walled where he spend some nights and where he found that foods are so delicious. 

He already went on Scottish Highlands where he slept in the Lochcarron Hotel. Scottish Highlands are mountains in north and west Scotland. 

He slept in lot of hotels and camp in each different places where he went. In the north coast he went on Armadale House where he taste very delicious steak and bacon. He slept on Northern Lights Campsite in Wester Ross. It’s a beautiful natural area. 

He took a train a the end to come back in Edinburgh. In Edinburgh he again took a plane to come back on her home.

He say that it’s an amazing experience. He say that we mustn’t be hesitant if we want to do a trip with a bike.

When he was flying he happened to kill you people when they opposed the theft. This is how he thought he was going to simplify (the job). So he decided to become a hitman. They kill between 4 and 6 peoples a year and don't really know how many people he killed. Indeed, at the beginning he counted his number of victims price that made him have nightmares so he stopped.

“Travel broadens the mind” this popular proverb says therefore the more we travel, the more open-minded we are. So, we will ask ourselves this question, does the more we travel the more we become open-minded? To answer this question we will, firstly, counter this thesis and then validate it.

For starters, the more we travel the more open-minded we are not. Because, for me, there are more than one type of travel, with each their target and enrichment. And for me, going to a holiday camp, club med or other and not going out there, does not make us have a better open mind, even if it’s halfway around the world. Because we can be in a country that we do not know with traditions unknown to us and a population and a functioning other than ours if we do not discover it, we will not be more open-minded. It can even be the opposite; we can have prejudices about this country and keep them. However, with this type of trip one can have an enrichment by the beauty of the landscapes... but not an open mind.

But, fortunately, there is another kind of travel. There are ecological trips to discover or analyse the fauna and flora of other countries which allows us to meet people in order to bring us to make observations or other, which in this case can offer us a better open-mindedness. There are also humanitarian journeys that can be very difficult psychologically but very rich and that allow us to have a greater openness of mind because we find ourselves in contact and in aid to populations in difficulty foreign to our usual population. Or, quite simply, tourist trips but in which we go in contact with the population. These trips can allow us to be more open-minded by getting in touch and observing.

Finally, for me, openness of mind can be acquired by informing ourselves, watching reports, documentaries, learning about the history of countries and populations and by being interested in the news. But for me the best way to be open-minded is to have an education that emphasizes open-mindedness and diversity.

This podcast is about a young guys and his travel on Niagara Falls in Canada. He sleep on Oakes Hotels. This hotel have a Jacuzzi  and when we go on the top we have a beautiful view ont the Falls. 

He ate in some places where foods was very delicious. He ate delicious pizza on the terrace of Zappis Pizza. The second night he ate a delicious stake in the Outback stake house.

He went behind the falls where we walked in tunnels. He walked in the Victoria Park in the evening time. It’s was an unforgettable moment because he can saw firework. He can go in the falls with a boat, it was an incredible experience. 

Furthermore he went on Canada Day. It’s a famous party in Canada on the  1^st July. It’s a famous an a special events so there is special an incredible fireworks. He met a band of very happy people. It’s a really great experience.

The guy say that is a wonderful destination that we worth visiting. The beauty of the falls, matched with the incredible people and the cool activities to do in Niagara Falls. It was just fantastic. He definitely recommended this destination.

It teaches us a lot about the character of the Scots. Indeed, they prefer to eat meat rather than drink water !

2)       Robert Burns was probably the greatest poet in Scotland. He was born on January 25. 

In the promotion of haggis, he had an important role. Indeed, he wrote a poem addressed to the Haggis as the embodiment of Scotland. Thanks to him, the Haggis became famous and traditional in the country with its feast day on January 25: A Burns supper! Which pays tribute to Robert Burns. In addition, people eat haggis, drink whisky, recite Burns' poems and dance.

Loneliness doesn't necessarily have to with the number of people around you. The friendships introverts do have tend to be stronger. For people aren't introverts, sometimes acting like a loner can have benefits.For one thing, being alone can be relaxing. The five most popular restful activities were all usually done alone, like reading. The third popular was actually spending time alone, to being more creative, it's important for mental focus.

Some writers appropriated different traditions and custom. They incorporated this traditions and customs in their novels. For instance Walter Scott included Kilt and bagpipes in his novels.

Lot of legends and myths which take place in Scotland was tell century after century around the world. For example there is the story of Loch Ness monster which took place in the Highlands.

Many Scottish specialities like Haggis or Bourbon whiskey was developed et pass down over time around the world.

Folklore was a tool developed to promote Scottish identity over time. They was  and they already are associate to Scotland and its history.

I chose this program because the timing of this coronavirus-related moment is complicated. Moreover, I wanted to listen to this podcast in order to inform myself about the sanitary situation in another territory than France. Today's situation is certainly difficult to manage. However, we have confidence in the decisions made by the government so that we can get on with our lives little by little as before, at last, I hope!

This podcast is tell by Lane who went in Ibiza. Ibiza is an island of Spain east coat at hundred fifty kilometer of Valencia. It’s a party Island, lot of people go there to have a good time, to go at parties, there is lot of music, drinks… Lane went in Ibiza during seven days. He slept at Hotel Garbi, an hotel located in Ibiza center. He went on Scuba Diving, where he dived and see dolphins. It’s a really good place to dive, furthermore, there is many other activities. The food in Ibiza is delicious. You can found many different foods in Ibiza and you can found delicious Ibiza speciality in some places. For young people who want party, it’s possible to go on a boat during few hours. If you want to make a break in your party you can go in Olive Oil Bottling, where they product a special Olive Oil and sometimes they product salt too. These is two specialities of Ibiza. Lane says that Ibiza it’s a great place to enjoy and make a break.

Pets in the Middle East are being left abandoned as their owners fear they could spread coronavirus. Recently we’ve seen many people abandoning their pets fearing they transmit the virus, Lubna  tells us that one of her friends saved a pregnant cat abandoned by it’s owners. One study showed that animals could not carry the virus and that it was therefore impossible for them to communicate it to humans but the fear of the population took over. Many people are devastated in the face of this as the animals abandoned mainly feed on the leftovers left by the population but since they cannot get out some therefore die of hunger.

I think it is important that we do not hide from the public the number of deaths in each country, we need to know, and we must not be excluded from society.  That is why I think it is very good that the British Government has taken the decision to make the death toll public.

Indeed, the fans of Celtic and Rangers are hearty because of the atmosphere they create in the stadium. However, the atmosphere can sometimes be seen as fierce because of the rivalry and mistrust between the two sides. They can be considered coarse through the insults and gestures they make. 

However, Celtic and Rangers fans can still be seen as Scottish anti-heroes. Indeed, they do not have the characteristic of justice and generosity towards the other side. Moreover, although each side defends its own values, I find that they are not defending their native Scotland; through this derby, you can see that Glasgow, the capital, is divided in two.

This is a conflict between Rangers and Celtics two Scottish football teams. Celtics represent catholic and poor part of Scottish people reverse Rangers represent Protestant Scottish establishment. This still ardent today because Scotland was separated in two part during a long time, this conflict existe since a long time ago we can’t forgot this in a quick time. Furthermore for each team it’s a tool to surpass their-self.

The Old Firm Derby is a football competition between two Scottish team the Celtics and the Rangers. This competition take place in the Paradise stadium. This competition is very important and it’s always unfold even when there is rain or clouds. This competition create an atmosphere. People from around the world are together to see this competition. People who can come directly on the Paradise Stadium. Other people gather in different pubs to see the competition together. Each person that follow this competition are really in because it’s an important competition for football’ fans.

This competition don’t oppose two club but two teams. Be Celtic it’s in the blood, in the DNA. One Celtic people always recognize an other Celtic, it’s like a family. A ranger never bought something with green Celtic colors on. There is lot of pride when we are in one of the teams. 

With this competition the fans animosity come back. The fight is always epic. There is a need to be very involved. However it’s more that just two different politics or religious opinion which oppose these two teams. There is many reasons. Support one of the two teams it’s not just a wish to a victory. It’s already support their causes, their opinions… The Old firm bring out all these things.

These documents show that there is vestiges of old conflicts. And sometimes this conflict take place in the all day Scottish inhabitants life. Yet we can found difference, conflict or two different Scottish parts in lot different field like in football with Rangers and Celtics for instance. 2)Robert Burns is a Scottish poet, born January 25. He wrote a poem dedicated to the Haggis called "Adress to a Haggis" in 1789. Also thanks to this poem, after his death and to celebrate his birthday every year his friends eat Haggis and drink Scotsh Whisky.

In addition, Scotland has a long tradition of folk arts and folklore. The bagpipe is undoubtedly the legendary symbol of Scottish folk culture. Art is also an integral part of Scotland with its poets like Robert Burns or Sir Walter Scott.  

For all this, one word to qualify it: "floklore", folklore is a tool of Scottish identity ,  because this word characterizes not only his culture but also his art, his dance, his music, his poetry, his dishes etc...
