I am a Chinese person living in a society with Chinese characteristics. To be honest, my personal sense of national pride is not particularly strong, but it is definitely there, and China is like a mother to me. Living abroad for eight years has made me grateful to be a Chinese in an era when China is gradually becoming stronger, and I am proud that I could have been born in China. Take this Covid-19 thing, although the virus was initially discovered from China, until now, China is almost the only country that has contained the outbreak.

Traditional Chinese culture is a general term for the civilisation, customs and spirit of a nation. The definition of "culture" is often a matter of "benevolence and wisdom". To put it simply, traditional Chinese culture is dominated by the three schools of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. These three schools of thought are interdependent, interpenetrating and influencing each other, forming the whole of traditional Chinese culture. These three schools of thought are collectively known in China as the "three religions".Traditional Chinese festivals include the Spring Festival (the first day of the first month of the lunar calendar); the Lantern Festival (the 15th day of the first month of the lunar calendar); the Dragon Boat Festival (the second day of the second month of the lunar calendar); the Shangsi Festival (the third day of the third month of the lunar calendar); the Cold Food Festival (105 or 106 days after the winter solstice); the Qingming Festival (around the 5th day of the 4th month of the lunar calendar); the Dragon Boat Festival (the 5th day of the 5th month of the lunar calendar); the Tanabata Festival (the 7th day of the 7th month of the lunar calendar); the Zhongyuan Festival (the 15th day of the 7th month of the lunar calendar). Mid-Autumn Festival (15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar); Chongyang Festival (9th day of the 9th month of the lunar calendar); Haewon Festival (15th day of the 10th month of the lunar calendar); Winter Solstice Festival (21st-23rd day of the 12th month of the lunar calendar); New Year's Eve (29th or 30th day of the 12th month of the lunar calendar)

In China, my parents, elders and carers have mentioned filial piety and forgiveness to me the most.Filial piety means treating your elders with respect and your children with charity. To be forgiving means to be generous and magnanimous, not to be calculating or to not pursue. These values are important to me because, firstly, they are the result of more than 5,000 years of Chinese history, and the great men of the past have written long ago about the importance of tolerance; secondly, they have shaped my caring character, and I am grateful and helpful.

The only thing these stories probably mean to me is that they have taught me something about history.

My belief in knowledge is that all knowledge is meaningful, whether they are practical or not, and that they all have a value. For me, the source of knowledge is all the things that exist or don't exist in the world, they can be real things like teachers, parents, or not real things like conjectures about new things. The vast majority of sources of knowledge are reliable, they are the result of experiments or experiences of previous people. For me, belief is not a real knowledge, but it is a prerequisite for learning, because one can reflect on it and think about it, and gain new knowledge by proving it with concrete data.
