What other places in religious mythos are similar to Erebus?

One place in religion that is comparable to Erebus is hell. In the Christian religion, hell is a place of misery where all sinners must go. Hades is the same thing. Hades is divided into 2 places: Erebus and Tarterus. In Dante's Inferno, hell is divided into 7 circles of suffering, just like Hades.

Erebus is both a God and a region. What similar qualities do they share?

Erebus, as a god, is the God of Darkness and the Son of Chaos. On the other hand, Erebus is an underworld in which the dead are mandated to pass through after their death; the meaning of Erebus is “darkness.” The god and the underworld are alike in which they both represent a form of darkness. Erebus is a God of Darkness whilst the underworld is a region of dark caves and crevices.

For our allusion, we chose Hades. Hades is the ruler of the Underworld, where Erebus is located; also, Hades is another name for the underworld. When you think of Hades, you think of the underworld, A.K.A. Erebus.
